Day 14 | My Mind and Body Aligned

As I was reminiscing over my journey this morning, I began getting teary when I talked about my husbands accident in October. I am so grateful he is ok, and was then also, but it was easy to sink to, “it could have been worse” or literally envisioning it and the worst happening. This has helped us all grow in some way over the past 5+ months.

It hit me today though. I mentioned about my mind and body coming into alignment.

There is no point in ever thinking, I should have started sooner or I should have just did this years ago. None of that matters. It can not be changed, it is what it is. Bottom line.

March 3 I was ready, I ironically 3 is my number 3-3. My mind and body came into alignment.

Is it easy, nope, if it was I wouldn’t be stronger and see progress improvements.

Today’s exercise program was Pilates. I think this is a big reason this program has felt successful for me, it’s not the same thing everyday but it does have similar days, if that makes sense. Over the 3 weeks, your weekly exercises are consistent but get a bit more intense as the week goes on.

It can be challenging to allow the mind to just do “whatever”. Put aside the “to-do” list, whether on paper or in my head and just be in the moment. I was able to enjoy more downtime this weekend than I had originally “planned” and I’m so glad it worked out this way. I’ve got a new book on it’s way to me for a book club with my beachbody coach @kim_m_fitzpatrick starting Sunday, so this week I am focusing on getting back into @jayshetty book “Think Like A Monk”, one paragraph that stood out to me this afternoon was on page 76.

“Monks know that one can’t plant a garden of beautiful flowers and leave it to thrive on it’s own. We have to be gardeners of our own lives, planting only seeds of good intentions, watching to see what they become, and removing the weeds that spring up and get in the way.” ♥️💫🌱

We are also branching out and being more conscious in the kitchen. With each healthy step forward my body is learning to more quickly notify me when something is off, “something” is typically an ingredient, for example salad dressings. Enough with “convenience”, sure it’s easier to buy a bottle in the store, but… is it really worth it? At times, for my health, to thrive, nope. Which is totally ok! I am excited, now that the spring weather is here and the deck is open, to experiment with more dressings, dips etc!
