When you have a lot of snow, paired with high winds, even for those who enjoy winter sports, its not the most enjoyable time to be outdoors – its cold!
Even with the opportunity to get out in the evening cold, my heart had another idea. As I knew I needed some downtime, leaning into that need, is what my soul craved.

When I am photographing at home or close to I love getting my EF L lenses out, they truly are my favourite! Last night I felt inspired to get out my 24-105 and my 16-35mm lenses. I often forget how wide the 16mm can go and that 8mm can make such a difference!

I challenge you, with this winter weather adding challenges for photographers – as I drive through town I wanted to stop multiple times for photos – doesn’t really work well when streets are so thin due to the piles of snow 😉 Easier with a driver… hmmm inspiration for tomorrow perhaps!
I challenge you to … Open your door, what do you see – Out The Front Door? You may be surprised at the opportunities available to you!
I absolutely love the quality of the L lenses, Ive noticed with the mirrorless camera’s the trigger is slightly delayed, but not by much. The quality of these lenses are incredible!
If curious, the first snowbank, on the other side of the walkway, is over 3 feet now 😉
