Happy Birthday To My Sweet Girl!!!

My sweet little girl Madison,

You were the most amazing and perfect surprise to complete our family! Each day that goes by I see you growing right before my eyes.I will never forget that moment, your brother just days away from being 10 months old and getting the call… YOU’RE PREGNANT! Although mommy was very scared, I was so delighted and unbelievably grateful!

Your sassy personality, love for family, friends and animals, amazing imagination, love for creativity, fun and bold fashion sense, your energy for doing the things you love and your need for comfy days at home.

I am so very blessed to be your mommy!

For all our smiles, laughter and tears – some moments may be a struggle to mommy but you truly have made me a better woman, a better mommy. With each struggle we both come forward better people, you learning your next steps in life and mommy being reminded what life truly is all about.

I cannot believe all this time has passed, it truly feels like yesterday I was holding you in my arms just seconds old.

This is what WINTER is in a small town! | Mount Forest

This past Friday a bunch of family met up in Toronto to go to the Ripley’s Aquarium of Canada. There is NO snow anywhere IN the city. Our aunt and uncle have a ground cover in their backyard, however the streets, nothing, downtown at the Aquarium NOT a flake! My uncle was joking that he hasn’t been up all winter… lucky him he’s coming next weekend!

I did however have to snap a few shots after the misses hockey tourney yesterday on our way home, we took the back way.

Toronto, this is what WINTER is like in a small town… These first 3 pics are from Saturday!

This is a snow bank on the side of highway 6…

This is my jeep, its taller than me, so close to 6′ tall… see the snow bank above it!

This is looking down the road in front of my Jeep, see that 80km sign, they are a good height!

This photo was taken from the first big storm of the year on January 6th, this is our main street in Mount Forest.

The snow banks got bigger, this was Jan 7th as the snow continues!

The snow built up outside my front door, it was over 4′ high ! This was from Jan 25th…

Accumulated snow on part of our deck, freshly covering our chairs and table!

January 26th… in one month this is how much snow that was plowed from just part of our driveway (we also have a lot piled at the front!)

Took a drive up to the cottage.

The snow bank in front of the house is the perfect height for the kids to climb up into the tree.

The snowmobiler’s are very happy this winter! Its SO nice to see a winter like we had when I was growing up, yes I totally feel like my grama or even my parents saying that. Its so nice to have SNOW and not just for a couple weeks. This cold weather however… can take a hike! By the end of this month, I am ready for Spring to arrive!!!

Mount Forest Patriots VS Hanover Barons | Game 5 TONIGHT! 9pm

Game 5 between the Mount Forest Patriots and the Hanover Barons is TONIGHT in Mount Forest at 9pm!

The Patriots are currently leading the quarter final playoffs 3 -1 ( best of 7).

Hope you’ll be there to watch and cheer them on!!!

The boys showed their support for Hayden Foulon a couple weekends ago when they had a fundraiser at our game to raise money for this sweet girl in her fight against Leukemia.

Congrats to our coaches who for the 2nd year in a row received… Coach Of The Year – Western Jr C League!

I could have sat for hours watching these birds. They were swimming, flying, eating and talking. Such a very calm and serene moment!

I truly know that I’m not the only one who is anxiously awaiting Spring, I’m sure these ducks are too! My little lady and I went out for a tour on our way home and stopped to enjoy the beauty of this pond full of gorgeous ducks!

If we must have 6 more weeks of winter before Spring, I certainly hope the days are just like yesterday!

The photographer in me was just itching to burst out of work at lunch time to capture some of the gorgeous scene mother nature created.

Pure 20 minutes of ME time is an awesome break to my day as well, feeling much more energized for the rest of the day!

This beauty of a tree is right between our neighbours and us, its massive. So incredibly beautiful with the deep blue sky and snow covered blanket.

Love this field across from us and each beautiful season it displays.

With the crazy amount of snow we’ve gotten this month how could I not get a photo of my jeep in front of one… that was just slightly taller than it! Now I can tell the same story one day to my grand kids hat my grama told me ;P

The Calm After The Storm

This morning was just beautiful with gorgeous warm sunshine I couldn’t resist to getting outside with the kids and capturing some of the winter beauty.

Ok yes it was incredibly cold, the wind felt like it was going through me as it whipped the snow around, I could barely feel my fingers as I snapped my shutter.
