I was slightly shocked at the dirt, dust and dog hair behind and under our couch, just think if we hadn’t cleaned behind, when the time comes to turn the heating system on it would get sucked right into it!

When is the last time you pulled out all your furniture to vacuum behind and clean under?

We did just that tonight. Thankfully my husband is very understanding and used to my rearranging urges and ideas, tonight while doing so he flipped the couch and lazy boy’s over so I could clean under – WOW! Its hard to believe that we did this exact same cleaning in the Spring and how much dog hair, dust and “stuff” (oh stuffing too from dog toys) we found behind the couch and under it as well as the chairs.

Pulling out the furniture also gave me another chance to vacuum out the cold air return – which remember isn’t supposed to be behind any furniture, ours is behind a side table and has room for air flow yet still gets dog hair and dust all over it!

Are you building a new house? Renovating? Time to upgrade your HVAC system?

Do your research and save money in the long run!

Upgrading your heating and cooling appliances during the building process will cost you more initially, however this will save you money in the long run. Consider all options, not only your building materials and décor but the true “heart” of your home – in the mechanical room. This room controls every aspect of your home from your hot water, your central vacuum, air exchanger, heating, cooling and electrical.

Also do not forget future additions… will you one day finish your basement? do you have a gas line run for a fireplace or perhaps you should think of infloor heating? Will you want to have a gas BBQ in your back yard? Will you one day want a gas fireplace in your livingroom?

Blue Heron on Lake Huron in Saugeen Shores

We had the pleasure of spotting this gorgeous bird while out for a tour in our boat. I kept urging my husband to get our boat as close as we could to it and eventually the bird hit the skies in flight!

Mount Forest Fireworks Festival

This past weekend we attended the Mount Forest Fireworks Festival. Kudos to the committee and everyone who helped in any way… What a great time!

They are busy creating memories!

I love watching our kids and especially our kids with our puppy! I love being able to sit back and watch them be creative and simply have fun! Near and dear to my heart remembering as a child being at the cottage with my parents and grandparents aling with many family members. That will always be a fond memory to not only me but my kids as well, the cottage means time with loved ones! Time to come together and have fun 🙂 They had SO much fun running through the water a couple weeks ago with Beck!

Happy Canada Day – Awesome weekend with family!

I haven’t blogged in a while, we had a crazy week last week with an unfortunate death in my husbands family. Thankfully after a crazy week, we had plans to head to my Grama’s cottage that we are so very blessed to be able to use with the rest of my family. This photo isn’t from this weekend, but is a fav of mine! We had a blast!Its not only Canada Day for us, its also hubby’s birthday!!! We invited up all the family and had a blast, arriving home our kids and all adults are exhausted, but relaxed… so very relaxed! Hope you and your family enjoyed the weekend as well 🙂

This was only his 2nd time to the cottage and he is loving it! Constant playtime with Hazel and Tara as well as sleepovers, with free running at the cottage and water for swimming… yup this is heaven for a lab! LolSee how happy he is! 😉
