Not The Odd One Out

I was compelled to choose better.

Better than what was the current “norm” for us.

Going against the grain of “normal everyday life” to create our new reality.

As we are into the summer I am reminded of how important routine and high vibe is important for our family’s health. How stimulation can be absolutely exhausting, even when it is fun. The absolute importance of having downtime to recharge and refresh. Being ok with pulling inward even for a little bit. Sometimes children do not know how to ask for this time.

I love my life, but some days they are really tough. I continually learn how to be a better person, mom, wife, that also makes me a better daughter, sister, friend, grand  daughter, niece, aunt, every single day.

It feels really emotionally hard some days.

I think about how much things have changed even just in my own lifetime and realize without this shift in our world our mental and physical health will continually decline.

Regardless of how “hard” this may feel some days, I am doing this for our betterment. For our health. I went on the search for something “natural” to help my boy who I knew in my heart had ADHD and was struggling.

What I have learned and continue learning daily is how this lifestyle can help him in having a happier life, my own health as well as my husband and daughter’s have also increased and are the best our health has been in years.

So its worth it. Its worth the “work”. Its worth the shift and learning new ways.

Ive learned this is a big purpose in my life. I see how our life has improved and continues to daily. So I will do the work. I will continue educating my kids on why and how they can live a happier life by being healthier and choosing healthy options. Yes for the most part still this means going against the “norm”. Reassuring the kids that its OK to do this – to follow your heart. That just because its not what he or she is doing – we can make our own choices and do not have to explain a thing to anyone else!

SUGAR. The amount of sugar in so many drinks and foods – many of which are marketed towards children to make them look fun and like something they should be wanting or buying.  I also understand many parents and children reading this will roll their eyes… thats ok because they aren’t ready so kindly move on. I am ready for this shift in our life and I am proud.

This is the truth of the matter…

Toddlers Are Eating More Sugar Than What’s Recommended for Some Adults

There is no reason for me to feel like the “odd one out” when this is the lifestyle we choose to live. We are living in alignment to our belief’s. That  knowing deep down that I am proud of myself and our family for the changes we have made and how much better we feel. That being confident in my decision and choosing to follow those belief’s no matter what anyone else does or says is being in power of my life.

High amounts of sugar drastically impact our mental and physical health. How do I know, because Ive experienced it myself and in my family.
And its a very real world problem with children.

We are all given this journey called life and all of these experiences for a reason. A reason that sometimes is very unclear. A mountain that feels like its continually growing as you attempt to climb it. But there is a reason. There is a reason we are each given the life experiences we are faced with. To become better and not bitter. To open our hearts and minds and grow. Regardless of what he is doing or she says, what they eat and drink or how late they stay up. Every single person makes the choices that  are right for their life. When we are parents we guide our children to make empowered decisions to positively affect their life. To be proud of how we choose to live. Not feeling like we need to explain to anyone the choices we make.

These are right for us. We thrive as individuals and as a family.

My purpose is to share our ADHD Lifestyle Journey of how making choices of health can be not only a way to feel better but also be empowered. As we learn, our children learn, as our children learn we also learn. We all learn new, better ways every single day!

Be a part of the change! For the better.

Not the odd one out, I just chose to step up into my own direction.

I would love to connect with other ADHD Mom’s and their families who have chosen to support and live life more naturally!
