Lens-Artists Challenge #409 | Best Ever Images

This weeks challenge topic is one that will have you remembering some of your favourite images. Steven is this weeks guest host and he presented a beautiful opportunity to bring forward some of your absolute favourites! You can check out his ‘Best Ever’ post here! Steven reminds us of World Photography week, and sums up this weeks challenge below.

“World Photography Week runs from 12th – 26th August, with World Photography day falling on 19th August. I thought this would be a fantastic opportunity for everyone to share with the Lens-Artists contributors their ‘BEST EVER IMAGES’ ! Pictures that celebrate our love of photography.

Maybe it’s an image that you planned and worked hard to achieve and you’ve captured the perfect composition. It can be an image that’s special to you, or others, that captures a special moment or, perhaps an image that you are really proud of or won an award with.

All I’d ask is for you to submit up to five images with a sentence or two about them and the stories behind them. I enjoy reading the narrative behind any image.” Steven

This is the first image that I think will always come to mind. From the summer of 2014 I woke early, before everyone else, while the sun was just beginning to rise up into the sky behind the trees. With the geese family on the water and seagulls in the sky. I love everything about the image, the tranquility serene feeling, the birds, the colours and of course the water!

This image was also from 2014, I think some of my most treasured images will always be when our kids were young. This is my husband, brother and our two kids out in the boat in the cottage bay.

This flower was under our deck when I spotted it, it was so intriguing to me how strong and beautiful it stood, in almost darkness under the deck. From 2015. The flower and deck have been transformed. This will always be a special memory for me before our renos!

2014 when my love for macro really began to develop!

That time my parents had two dogs and we had our dog and my parents went away so we had all 3 dogs at our place for our dogs 1st birthday! You make it your goal of the weekend to get them all to sit together for a birthday shot! The yellow is ours, Becker he turned 1, Hazel is the Chocolate she was 1.5 and Tara the black she was 7.

This is one I had to include, my first ever shot of a Blue Heron. We were on our boat in the Southampton harbour when we looked over and saw him perched on the stone near a boat house, and then he took off! This is from July 2012 and truly ignited my passion for birds!

Thank you Steven for an inspirational challenge this week to review some of our past deeply loved work! I hope you have enjoyed the images I have shared. To find the other posts be sure to look for the tag Lens-Artists.

  1. Pam, it’s hard to compete and decide what image and accompanying text is more beautiful than the previous photo. The stories are touching and very meaningful in your photo journey. Excellent work!

  2. Pamela, a beautiful collection of your favorite images. I really enjoyed the story behind each one. I love them all but my favorite is of the three Labradors! We’ve had Labs and I can only imagine how hard it was to get them all to sit still at once!
