Savour Life and Return to Love | doTERRA Black Pepper & Basil

After hearing some very heart breaking news today, this evening I asked The Spirit Plant Essential Oil Cards which 2 oils I should use in the diffuser. I found this incredible which two oils were suggested.

So tonight while enjoying this diffuser blend I wanted to share this with you. A reminder to truly open up your heart and mind to what you really love, where you are most at comfortable and feel strength.

I am so very grateful and thankful for everyone in my life, past, present and future. For those in the past have shaped me to where I am today through happiness, sadness and challenges. Empowered Femininity | doTERRA Diffuser Blend

My evening oils consisted of Women’s Blend, Wintergreen, Ginger and Calming Blend – Serenity.

I used the Spirit Plant Cards ap and their “My reading” option.

I then read in the Emotions and Essential Oils resource book.

Women ‘s Blend is The Oil of Femininity. This blend supports a woman with feeling kind, accepted, teachable and adaptable.

Wintergreen is The Oil of Surrender. This oil “can assist a strong willed individual in letting go…” and has positive feelings of inner strength and relying on the divine.

Ginger is The Oil of Empowerment. This oil can emotionally support someone who feels stuck or on a negative path of blame and misfortune. Ginger has positive emotional support of feeling empowered, purposeful, capable, accountable and responsible.

Calming Blend – Serenity is The Oil of Forgiveness. “Calming Blend has a powerful effect on the heart…”, “When an individual expects too much from others, Calming Blend can relax their perfectionistics expectations”. Calming Blend is emotionally Calming of feelings, accepting, forgiving, compassionate, receptive and tender hearted.

This is tonight’s diffuser blend. 3 drops of Serenity, 3 drops of Wintergreen and 1 of Ginger with Whisper on my wrists and neck.

Truly amazing how our bodies know what we need emotionally. We are drawn to the oils which our bodies emotionally need support with.

Fun in the Sun | Sunburn & Sunset

What a gorgeous weekend to be at the beach! The water, sand and sun was simply fabulous – so warm, refreshing and calming! In and out of the water proved to heat things up with some of us getting a little extra sun. Imagine that, me as a red head under an umbrella for the better part of the day getting a sunburn 😉

I mixed up this super easy DIY Sunburn Soothing Relief with Aloe Vera Gel, 10 drops each of Lavender, Melalueca (Tea Tree), Frankincense with 8 drops of Peppermint. Cooling and very soothing to the skin with wonderful skin healing benefits as well.

At least once each summer I take all the kids on a photo walk – the mere purpose of getting similar photos each year of all the kids on the beach in the same area. This year they had some beautiful ideas of their own which really personalized the shots. I am so incredibly happy with them! These are my littles – they didn’t even plan to match and they did perfectly 😉

Saturday evening I had some time to myself – completely alone after dinner so I went for a drive to capture the sunset. Boy was it simply amazing. The sun rays came directly to me. I sat for an entire hour, by myself on the beach. It was relaxing, refreshing, cleansing and energizing all at the same time.

This little dude came along while I was enjoying the scenery and hung out with me the entire time I sat there.

Peace is seeing a sunset and knowing who to thank.

Backyard Nature Photography | Flowers and Birds

One of my favourite things about our back yard is nature. We have so many gorgeous flowers which over the years have multiplied and a gorgeous and calming sound of a great variety of birds as well!

How gorgeous is the back of this flower? Isn’t it just beautiful. The range of colour, so deep and rich! I just had to capture it. As the saying goes, “don’t judge a book by its cover”!

I was thrilled to see so many of these little birds in our back yard. I pulled up a chair under the tree and simply waited with my camera, happily enjoying the sounds of nature. This little one was a little timid at first, then was quite happy to flit around!

More new friends!

When getting up close and personal to nature I always like to keep my Terra Shield close by! SO many bugs are turned off by the smell – which leaves us happily bug free 😉

The universe works in wonderful ways | DoTERRA Jasmine & Helichrysum

This week I received my free bottle of Jasmine from doTERRA!!! A true gift that arrived at exactly the right time in my life.

This beautiful bottle arrived Wednesday afternoon, exactly when my body needed the support of this oils positive properties. A gorgeous floral scent, so precious and unique.

Jasmine is one of doTERRA’s very precious oils. These oils are not available year round as they are so precious that it is important to ensure sustainability within the harvests to achieve the quality standards doTERRA has set for themselves.

Jasmine is know as The Oil of Sexual Purity and Balance. Jasmine has positive properties of healthy sexuality, pure intentions, innocent, healing, self-acceptance, intimate, trust and safety.

Today after work I came in to my oil box, opened it and my eyes directly went to Helichrysum. Quite honestly not one I would immediately choose for the diffuser. So I then went to my Emotions and Essential Oils book and said to myself wherever I open the book the first oil I choose will be on the left side. I opened the book to page 40… Helichrysum! Our intuition is pretty freaking cool!

Helichrysum is known as the Oil for Pain. “Helichrysum removes pain quickly and effortlessly. It aids “the walking wounded” – those with a history of difficult life circumstances… It gives strength and endurance to the wounded soul who must keep on living, despite past difficulties.” Helichrysum has positive properties such as healed, courageous, hopefully, transformation, perseverance and determination.

The oil on page 41… Jasmine!

These oils are both special ones. Helichrysum is a higher value oil, one that is available year round, however is an investment for your collection!

With the plant spirit’s Helichrysum is known for its Strength. “I am strong in my ‘weakness’, strong in my healing. I will never forget this.

The plant spirit Jasmine is known for Internal Guidance. “In stillness I listen to the voice of my heart and follow where it leads.”

Helichrysum has beautiful emotional properties as mentioned above, as well as physical.

Helichrysum is used in aromatherapy as a nervine and calmative. It is also effective for first aid uses such as colds, coughs, cuts, bruises, burns, eczema, dermatitis, sprains, strains, blemishes, minor skin irritations, acne and boils.

I can personally attest to the ability of Helichrysum to aid with the healing of cuts. A drop on a cut and the blood immediately begins to clot and begin the healing process.

A very unique combination these two are. Sometimes the best decision is to follow our intuition, it will rarely steer us in the wrong direction. Another benefit to diffusing the oils is my entire family is benefitting from the positive properties of both oils. ❤

With a soft and gentle Whisper

Hey all my oily lovers!

This past week was emotionally tough for this Oily Photographer so I literally surrounded myself with loved ones ALL weekend from Friday night to Sunday night with of course some quiet downtime for myself as well.

Saturday morning part of our oily team got together for some training, exactly what I needed to keep my mind busy. At this team training, I was so very lucky and am so grateful to have won a 5ml bottle of doTERRA Whisper!

This is a beautiful blend of Bergamot, Ylang Ylang, Patchouli, Vanilla Bean Absolute, Jasmine, Cinnamon, Labdanum, Vetiver, Hawaaian Sandalwood, Cocoa Bean Absolute, Rose in a base of fractionated coconut oil.

I will be honest, when we first got this blend for our oil kit, I got it for my daughter to wear. It was one I really and truly was not drawn to and so for many months it has sat in my oil box with only about 20 drops left in it… until this weekend!

When I won the bottle of Whisper at our training, I knew it was a sign. Out of everyone there I was the one lucky enough to receive it – because I needed it. I came home from the training, opened my bottle of whisper and instantly felt calm and at peace. It was a different scent than what I remember when we originally got it and my daughter was using it in her diffuser. I find it so very facinating how our bodies can be drawn to different oils at different moments, situations and emotions within our life. A blend which once did not appeal to me at all, I found comfort in. I applied the oil to my wrists, behind my ears and over my heart and have been wearing it everyday since that Saturday afternoon.

Whisper essential oil blend is known as The Oil of Femininity. It encourages individuals to let go of their pride and let down their tough exterior. Positive properties of this blend include humility, kindness, softened, acceptance, teachable and adaptable.

Women’s Blend is also known for Liberation with the plant spirits! A beautiful blend to release burdens, stress and responsibilities which affect so many women with work, children, family, finances, household etc. I personally find its easy as a woman, working, with a family and a household to co-manage, a large close family and also having a vision for how I would like to personally impact the world… at times things can collide and without even realizing, its easy to be consumed within the emotions of the moment. I am so very thankful for these oils as they truly continue to change my life. Thank you mother earth for this beautiful gift of natural health and wellness.

Juicy Rosemary Basil BBQ Chicken & Optimistic Diffuser Blends

I started my day with a beautiful diffuser blend of Douglas Fir and Bergamot. Bergamot is a gorgeous citrus oil which is known as The Oil of Self Acceptance with positive properties of Optimism, Confidence, Hopeful and Loveable.

The positive properties of Douglas Fir which was resonating with me this morning and to strengthen my energy was Wisdom and Learning From The Past.

Its so easy to become consumed with the day to day and forget about what really matters, who is in our lives and how we can positively affect them. Douglas Fir teaches individuals to learn from and value others experiences. Douglas Fir reminds us that valuable wisdom can be obtained by learning from the past.

This evening I cooked a beautiful bbq chicken dinner. First after arriving home, I put in a beautiful blend of two of the doTERRA Sunsational Flavours oils… Spearmint and Tangerine.

Spearmint is The Oil of Confident Speech, known for instilling Confidence and Courage. Spearmint also encourages individuals to take a public stand on behalf of their values and opinions.

Tangerine oil, is as fabulous as ripping open the rind of a fresh tangerine. Tangerine is known as The Oil of Cheer and Creativity. Tangerine teaches the individual to enjoy life by being more abundantly creative and to re-experience the joy and cheerfulness they knew in childhood. Positive properties are Optimistic, Abundantly Creative and Cheerful.

My mouthwatering bbq chicken brushed with a fresh garlic, helman’s mayo and oil mixture! 2 drops of Rosemary, 2 of Basil and 1 of Lemon.

When cooking with oils one drop goes a long way, especially for a more stronger flavour such as Oregano. The flavour is rich and deep, infusing all of the meat with mouthwatering goodness!
