We had a wonderful gathering of family and friends at our home last night, we missed some of you who were not able to join us, we had a blast it was SO much fun! Thank you to all those who did come, you truly made it SO very special for us and especially for the birthday boy!

Happy Birthday to my hubby… the Canada Day baby!

We get to celebrate again next weekend 🙂

The the father of my children

I will never forget that moment, in our first house after so much sorrow, pain, distance… it had finally happened… We were going to be parents!!!

A memory that I will always treasure, that moment I told my hubby he was going to be a daddy.

Every year is more amazing, every new “stage” so much fun! Xoxo

One of the best life lessons we have been blessed to be a part of is parenting. There is certainly no text book of how to be the perfect parent or how to properly raise your child. Our children are true blends of us, and I couldn’t imagine a better man to have shared this journey with. I am so excited to share many more years and memories with you and our babies… yes they will always be my babies!

Happy Father’s Day!

We spent an amazing weekend with our family (again!) 🙂

Wonderful Happy Fathers Day wishes to my hubby, my kids couldn’t ask for a better dad! To my father in law who raised an amazing man who I am proud to call my husband and so happy he is the father of my babies. Of course to my own dad, who has always been there for me no matter what, has taught me so many valuable life lessons and the importance of a hard days work (its not always easy working with family but the pros far out weigh the cons), that we are so much alike but can also work awesome together, that sometimes life wont always go as “planned” and those can be the most valuable life lessons (especially the most difficult), most of all who has taught me that family is everything and I am so honored to not only call him dad, but also my hubby to have him as his father in law and our children to have him as Granpa.

Of course to our wonderful family including uncles and our friends… a very happy day to you too!

Beach treasures

The kids and I enjoyed exploring and I took the time to enjoy as many pieces of the beach that I could… These shells bring back my own childhood memories! I would live this large in my bathroom.. or the cottage bathroom.

Hard work, Schooling … My Hubby

Today marks the end of 5 years of my hubby’s Electrical Construction Apprenticeship schooling!

I am SO very proud of him. Working and going to school is no easy task, especially when schooling involved one day a week for 9 months… and I thought being pregnant for 9 months was long, times that by 4 lol as his first block was 2 mths.

Just over 6 years ago my husband began his journey into HVAC, after many months of thinking and enjoying time with our new baby, we made the decision to close down his Construction business and for him to join my family business. Unsure at the time if that would be the best decision for us as a family, “working together” everyday, however we have never looked back! Was the best decision we made! I was doing his office accounting etc and working a full time job and then began maternity leave, began back to work part time. It was most certainly the best decision for our family.

I am not only proud of him for completing the 5 years of schooling, but also for being a great role model for our kids. There were lots of days he would much rather not get up at 5am to drive to school, however he did and he reminded our kids of  just how important education is for their own well being and benefit and for their future. Nothing in life can be expected or achieved without hard work, hard work to make your goals and achieve them! We are also very realistic with the kids that if there is something in life you want, there is no one else who will make it happen, but your hard work and saving money. If anything is worth doing, its doing right!

Next up he has to write his exam to get his ticket! Then continuing to work on his Sheet Metal and A/C… we have agreed though taking a break from school for the rest of the year, at least is a must!

Having gone through these years with him for not only his apprenticeship but also two levels of gas licensing and training and his liquid propane , it really has given me more respect for the hard working men we have at the shop, all of them have put in a lot of time and education into the jobs they do, many have spent hundreds of hours in school, especially for some trades that aren’t the most spectacular, but a great necessity!

As his wife, I am very very proud of him, as a role model for our kids I am extremely proud of him for all the hard work he not only put into finishing this schooling but the hard work he puts into his job. Of course this journey hasn’t always been as rosey as this post may make it sound. It sucks being used to getting up between 630-7am and having that one day a week of hearing the alarm screech at 5am… on a Tuesday, Monday nights were always horrible to fall asleep and made for a long week thats for sure. The kids certainly enjoyed daddy being home by 5pm to pick them up at daycare. Mommy really loved that, Tuesdays were the evenings he would take over for dinner and me after not sleeping great, which funny enough was last night, I could rest. At work, planning around his day in school could get tricky as well, I am so thankful this part of his career has come to an end, with a very long road ahead!!!

Way to go Jaz ! I am SO very proud of you… xoxoxo 🙂

Time to update some more on the job pics 😉 These were from 2011.

Calm before the storm… the lake

The lake was very calm Saturday, very calm before the cold front rolled in Sunday. The geese were enjoying cruising the bay.

Exploring the beach and trails

While hubby was hard at work on finishing the geese masterpiece, the kids and I took off down the beach and through the trails to explore! They were in heaven and even very obliging when mommy would call

The geese have landed… cheers to the goose!

I truly admire the custom woodwork talent my hubby has been blessed with. I have to say I live how this turned out! He did a fabulous job and it was a great surprise for both dad and mom when they arrived! Yes this is a custom cedar design for the cottage.

Little girls and dresses… playing trucks!

These construction trucks are a part if my own childhood and now a very fond memory, especially watching my kids playing in the back yard at the cottage building roads and hills. Of course you must be dressed your best, even when playing trucks in the dirt. 😉 Yes she certainly has my independence mixed with her Auntie Erin’s sense of style (ok she gets independence from her auntie too lol).

Life’s A Beach… and they are mine!

The kids and I had a blast exploring at the cottage while Daddy worked 😉 I still need to do some fine editing to this image, however I am simply in love with it and just had to share 🙂 Im thinking this, printed large, up on the wall. I actually challenged myself to only use one lens this weekend. A lens that I have been neglecting, until this year that is. This image and all the images shot at the cottage this weekend were with my 5D MIII and my 100L f2.8 macro lens. In love!
