This gorgeous, amazing sky is what we had the pleasure of enjoying in our backyard. Literally… fire in the sky!
I took this image with my Canon 5DMIII and my 100mm f2.8L macro lens in HDR mode on my camera. I LOVE the results!

Its these little moments, to us as adults they are merely that little, perhaps insignificant… To our children they mean everything!
Little man asked if they could have pancakes for supper one night, he loves helping make things, both of the kids do, whether its at home or at grama and granpa’s. They loooove how grama makes pancakes lol he always reminds me not to forget the butter, I typically do 😉 So last night he quite proudly began getting the ingredients out, remembering what they used with Daddy last weekend when Mommy wasn’t feeling well.
The kids quite happily climbed up each on a bar stool, one with the wet ingredients, the other with the dry – see this is why baking isn’t a fav of mine I dont measure lol.
Little moments in their life that will be a part of their lives for many years to come.
This week when we had an evening storm, we woke up to devastation on our front porch. The evening before I admired mama robin sitting on her nest. This morning we woke up, the kids went out on the front porch with our dog… to find the nest upside down and all the eggs/babies gone 😦
Its all so very true, in a brief moment, your life as you know it can change, some small changes, some quite significant. The kids talked about how the birds must of hatched and flew away with their mama, as I was tearing up I encouraged this thought for them, afterall they do not know any better so why burden them with hurt emotions thinking the babies died. Walking by our front entrance and looking at our window, I will be honest I miss not seeing her sitting there. We were all so looking forward to watching the babies hatch from their eggs and mama robin feeding them. Not only the miracle of life, but also the beauty of nature!
Little moments in life that we enjoy, one day will merely be a memory. Our kids thrive on family and friend relationships and those memories which come with them. Moments between themselves as siblings, moments between us as our own immediate family and our extended family. After the misses dance recital Saturday we had our family back for dinner. The next day, the kids were expecting everyone to come back again 😉 They love having the family together and having fun!
A little moment from our family cottage, I captured this after the kids kayak’d down to the sand point, they are so sweet and little. Some very similar pictures I have of myself enjoying the beach growing up. We had a full cottage that weekend with family and friends, as Dad said the way even he remembers and enjoyed the cottage through his teen years and once he had his own family. Even these little moments I look back on and they are heart warming.
As a photographer, I have thousands of photos. Especially for every significant moment in our life or in our loved ones lives which we are included in. I take great pride in capturing these moments, the love and fun had by all. These images are especially important when one day that is all we have. Young children cannot understand significant life or relationship changes, nor would I ever be the parent to go into a great lengthy discussion which could hurt them further. Kids need to be kids, enjoy the little moments and cherish memories they have been blessed with.
10 ways to love, and enjoy those little moments even more… a good read for everyone! ❤
You can never take too many photos, spend to much time or laugh too much with people you love, mutually respect, have fun with, smile, who truly make your life better when you are around them. Cheers to all those little moments with our family and friends. They are not moments to be taken for granted! ❤ And if someone does take you for granted, if they choose to not be a part of your life or involve you in theirs, if you can honestly say you did what you could and tried, its now time in life to move on. The past cannot be changed, the future is always a new start to the day!

Life is short, days go by fast, live, laugh and love every moment!
I love that we have a mama robin nesting in our front window. Such a small, insignificant (to some) factor in everyday life, that I find so fascinating and loving. She is such a good mama sitting on her nest keeping her babies warm in their eggs. She is so used to us now, even when our dog goes out she sits attentively watching. A very simple life for this mama, possibly boring but what she is dedicated to doing. I live her simple life and u live that she chose our window for us to enjoy the miracle of nature and birth, ok hatching.
There is something about black and white images that just make them so timeless. I made my girl a promise that I would blow a photo up large for her room, same for my boy of him playing hockey. The first and fourth are my very favourite of our girl! A very successful weekend of dance, a very happy and proud little girl. It was worth the edginess that was our daughter being on a “dance high” and not wanting to sleep.
The performance was so very moving, the artistic dance of these girls, from young to teens, did an amazing job, very controlled, smooth, true talent!
As a mom I was blown away, many years eyed moments, as a spectator I thoroughly enjoyed watching the performance and admiring the true tale T of these dancers, a true artistic form!
Kudos to everyone involved, you all did an amazing job at coordinating, organizing, designing and of course teaching our little ones! My daughter had a blast! My love for the arts has embraced this wonderful academy, I am lucky it includes my favourite art form, Photography!
Today was all about the little lady… but our boy did amazing!
He sat through and watched the performance for over 2 1/2 hours! I was so very proud of him. They both came home tired, beginning to get on each others nerves, giving each other a little dig when they could, at the end of the day they still shared some cuddle time. Before we headed to get jammies on and tucked into bed, reminding them to sleep in 😉 My lil man was relaxing on the lazy boy…
Its SO him !
When the thumb goes in… we know its past bedtime! Yes still trying to break this habit! Yes I know hes past due for a hair cut. This mama loves the shaggy look on him 😉
Its the little moments xoxo
Our little lady was in dance this fall/winter and they had their first recital this weekend to finish off the year. Very proud mama moment! She has another show tomorrow, however today we had a lot of my side of the family join us for her recital and then dinner after, was truly very special! I was SO glad they could all attend with us, it meant a lot to not only her, but me as well!
We did our own little photoshoot at home. Im all about natural photography, so I just let her do her thing outside and then came in for a few! She’s a natural. I truly feel blessed to have both a boy and a girl who I can photograph being completely BOY and completely GIRL lol. Today was all about our little lady although I will say, for our lil man to sit through 2 1/2 hrs of the play, he did amazing – made this mama very proud!!!
Without further ado… our wee lady the star fish!
The bird of the beach… the sea gull.
They can be annoying, however they are also a very beautiful bird.
I am opening myself up to explore the beauty all around me, not just within my own family, but every aspect of our life. This guy was flying over head while my children were very happily playing on the beach. Its the little moments and all those little details!
We arrived home from our weekend away to see our two apple tree’s in full bloom!
Gorgeous!!
Have you ever just stopped, taken in a deep breath and looked around?
Ive never really been someone who has a real green thumb or really has even truly taken the time to appreciate the beauty in nature, photography has not only captured some amazing moments in my life, it has also opened my eyes to stop, look around and embrace the beauty all around, right in my own backyard.
Our lives can be such fast paced that some of the natural beauty can be missed. I am so thankful Ive taken a step back from our hectic life and have taken the time to really do something for me and my family. To take more time for myself, for us and to enjoy life!
For so many years these trucks were a part of my and my siblings childhood, some are original some have been replaced, others have been added. After a busy weekend even the kids enjoy some time away from the group to clear their minds and play.
A favourite ever since I was young has always been walking down to the sand point at the end of the Bay. So many little creatures, shells, birds and of course rocks… they are gorgeous!
