April showers bring may flowers…

Or is it April snow brings colds…

We have had some crazy weather lately and the past couple days, although we have needed the rain, have been dark, dreary, damp, cold and raining. Of course its been raining, why? Because we did our front gardens on Sunday, then watered them and then washed both our van and truck… yes thats why it rained lol. But the rain certainly has freshened up the gardens and hopefully they will begin to show some growth.

This weather being warm then cold, has proved to be a challenge on the health front for everyone in our family with colds, one began taking me down and its still working hard at draining my energy. So this dark, dreary weather is not helping at all!

After a very productive day at work, that certainly felt good I totally still felt in a slump, amazing what a little sunshine can do, even coming home to my hubby cooking us dinner and walking in the door with two very happy and energetic kids, the 3 of them certainly give me so much to be thankful for and so many reasons to smile. This evening the clouds parted and a little sun began to shine giving us enough time to enjoy some time on the deck and the kids to wear off energy with the dog.

Its moments like the photo I am going to post next that really makes me smile, that and a quiet relaxing night with hubby just letting me literally do nothing! And that’s when I looked up and saw… the 2nd photo I’m going to post. Absolutely beautiful and a reminder that no matter what happened today or how I was feeling… the sun will always rise again!

Flash Back… To the beginning!

This Sunday May 6th my husband and I are celebrating being together for 11 years! In a way it’s almost hard to believe it’s been 11 years and yet even moreso it feels like it’s been forever… In the best way possible of course 😉 Looking back over our 11 years… We’ve comes so far, as individuals, as a couple, as husband and wife and as a mommy and daddy.

We’ve had our ups and downs, the good and bad, one thing is for sure, neither of us could ever imagine our life any other way. To know that the good and bad we have been through over the years was going to bring us here, all of this hard work has been so worth it 🙂 I just love reminising !!!

Daddy’s Boy…

Our boy is very much like his daddy, so very caring, loving and very hard working. Our little boy wants to be just like daddy and do what daddy does – of course hubby takes this as not only a great time for him to spend time with his son but very much as a compliment. Especially when Cars will go on and on to me about everything daddy can do – seriously makes my heart melt! I loved capturing these images, of course the girl had to

My gardener helper

This afternoon after a family outting we came home and did our front gardens, unfortunately we didn’t get enough chips but we did get the majority covered. When I was finished watering the plants, then the miss had to help the grass grow 😉

Nature’s Natural Spring Beauty

What a fabulous way to wake up on a Sunday to the sunshine flowing into the bedroom windows. What is more exciting is it is supposed to be a high of 14 today. Would be wonderful if this sunshine and warmer weather lasted! 🙂  Im going to enjoy this beautiful day outside with my family!

Yesterday afternoon Mady and I took a walk behind our property and back to the small stream, its quite wet back there, however once behind our trees its like we are in a totally different area. There isnt much for flowers coming up yet, however it is still so serene and just gorgeous! We did have to be very careful as the ground is quite wet. Also last year we had a snapping turtle come up and into our yard, so I was on the watch lol.

The apple trees in our back yard are finally beginning to bud and their leaves showing. At least we think they are apple trees! I guess we will see soon if they begin to blossom… Yes I would be lying if I said I wasn’t hoping they were apple trees, I love to photograph the apple blossoms!

Macro Spring Beauty

I cannot wait until more flowers come up. Well that is as long as our puppy would let them grow up out of the ground. This beauty… is actually a macro shot of a Dandilion! Very much a pain when they cover the lawn and yet so very beautiful!

Wine Club… our 1st shipment arrived!

When we went away for a weekend a few months ago (hard to believe it was a few months ago now), we joined the Niagara Estates Wine Club. Yesterday we received our very first shipment!!!

We are saving these wines for an at home date night for hubby and I. Hopefully tomorrow night will be one of them, long as our dear children cooperate and go to bed on time 😉

Very excited to taste these and build our collection… hmmm build or drink haha!

What matters most to a child…

Many people think that children need this and that… A ton of toys, clothes etc when really what kids need most is love, acceptance, support and encouragement from the people they love and look up to.

Most of all they need and want time. Time together as a family.
