Mount Forest Fireworks Festival 2026 | Main St

Now that our kids are older, we take in the car show and main street festivities each year and haven’t been to the midway in a while. This year, began with a bang… of thunder, lightening and a LOT Of Rain!

Kudo’s to those who still got their vehicles out early and sought cover as the storm stirred up again! There was a decent crowd once the major rains quit. We had to run for cover a few times, but it truly represented the heart of a small town. This is our biggest event for our town and it happens once a year.

This year they had military vehicles and one was this jeep that they pulled out to the middle of main street and they completely took it apart and then put back together, in about 5 minutes! It was very cool to watch.

I was so happy to see the crowd that did come out when the major rains stopped. Even though we still had off and on rain, the street began to fill up. It was so nice to see! Many then gather at the legion, the weekend it self is like a reunion for people which is so fun!

I love lifestyle photography and this is one of my favourite weekends for the pure joy of capturing the fun and memories!

  1. I’ve read this post several times now and pored over your lovely images, knowing somehow it ought to be familiar to me, but I couldn’t put my finger on it. Cam just walked in from golf so I showed it to him and he burst out laughing. Whilst on our honeymoon (don’t you dare laugh!), we stayed one night in a small motel in Mount Forest on our way up to Tobermory to catch an early ferry to Manitoulin. We both love the island, I wanted, particularly on that occasion, to visit Bridal Veil Falls (and shoot it, natch), and we spent a glorious week on the island relaxing and rejuvenating. On the way home we drove north to Espanola to visit friends and then on to Sudbury to visit more friends, before heading home. So, thank you sweet Pam, for posting this, it’s sparked a lovely trip down memory lane for us and the timing is perfect – our anniversary is tomorrow. Great, great post! I loved it! xx
