Daily Healthy Habits Can Shift Your Life

Ive had many people reaching out and asking… “How did you do it?!”

How did I lose 40lbs in less than a year not living in a gym 😉

With Daily Healthy Habits that support my body exactly where it needs to be!

  1. Mindset – I was ready to make a solid change in my life. I didn’t exactly at the time know HOW it was going to happen – I was READY for it to happen.
  2. Daily Healthy Habits – This is where my daily use of my oils and plant based vitamins and minerals and sustainably sourced marine oil and land-sourced omega fatty acids.
  3. Eating healthy and moving my body properly – Cut out the processed boxed pre-made food and make healthier choices for foods. I began Yoga.

Mindset

For many years I told myself I was “fine” and didn’t have time to take for me – even 10 minutes to meditate. I lived in a “busy” world and that’s exactly how I felt all the time. I felt unsettled for many years, even in our first house after a few major renovations, in our 2nd house I still didn’t feel like it was me. I knew last year with the physical changes happening in our space – our nest, I knew it was time to make my own physical changes to become healthy and stronger. Honestly its 100% about that. Being ok with having to buy new clothes during the transition and feeling the true value this was going to have on my life.

I now make time for ME. Am gentler on myself for needing downtime if I begin to feel mentally exhausted. These whole home renovations have been an incredible growth opportunity. I am thankful for that.

I appreciate the value of meditation and clearing my mind.

I visually could see myself stronger.

That I could do this – even though I didn’t really know how I was going to do it 😉

I deserve and am worthy of having a healthy, strong body and happy life!
Cause lets face it when you do not feel healthy – its easy to feel sad!

Daily Healthy Habits

Many people are reluctant to understand how using essential oils daily can improve your health. Ive experienced it first hand. My advice – keep the oils accessible and make a point of using them even if its just diffusing in your home at first.

We began using essential oils in our home in June 2014. I used to be sick all the time, no matter the season. I was physically and mentally exhausted every single day and in a lot of pain. I felt miserable more often than not. It was extremely hard to even begin to describe. Even doctors who I had worked with for years could not get pharmaceuticals to work for my body. It was “the norm” for me to have frequent visits to the doctor because of how I felt.

I began taking baby steps. Got the oils and committed to use them. Topically on my body and Aromatically in the diffuser. Yes this meant small changes in my daily habits. Instead of immediately reaching for a pain medication, I pushed myself to think outside of the box and educate myself of the natural options available to me to support my body. One of the biggest life lesson is patience. Slowing down. Whenever I would reach for a pain killer I did because I needed immediate relief. However my body was in pain for a reason… I was now figuring out, rather than cover up the pain, why not search for the reason!

Constant pain and discomfort from my digestive and endocrine systems. Years ago being diagnosed with PCOS and Hypothyroidism, also having challenges with IBS and Endometriosis,  I was very upset with my body. I had little medical support and I became frustrated quite easily.

What I have learned is that when I honor my body in the way it needs to be – I CAN and DO live a pain free life! You can too!

So some of my daily healthy habits Ive changed are reaching for my natural health products (essential oils and supplements) vs over the counter medication or running to the doctor for a prescription.

Did you know your gut health is a significant factor in your overall health and happiness. Whenever you take a prescription antibiotic you kill off bad AND good bacteria. It is very important to ensure if you must take a prescription antibiotic you also take a high quality pro-biotic to re-populate the good bacteria. This was big for me. I had been on a lot of various prescribed and over the counter meds. In January 2017 I began a cleanse and restore program and this kick started a significant weight loss and more focused lifestyle change.

Use or make natural cleaners for your home. The cleaners you can buy in a store are filled with toxins that are damaging to your health – especially to the endocrine system – which is what PCOS and Hypothyroidism affects. Many cleaners and air fresheners for homes are also filled with fragrance which may “smell” good – however they are synthetic and also damaging to our health.

Sleep is important to ensure our body had adequate rest to repair and rejuvenate. Sleep has been a challenge for me for many years. With the use of the various oils I have found I am sleeping much better, my mind is able to relax and if I have any issues falling asleep I have various combinations of oils or natural supplements to use to support my body in relaxing vs med’s which can be addictive.

What you put on your body – goes in your body!
I switched out my commercial deodorant and experimented with some – I used a DIY for a while, however my underarms were sensitive to the baking soda. I have been using a deodorant crystal now for almost a year and Im really loving it. You do sweat still – which isn’t enjoyable to me, however it does help with any body odour, this of which is also linked to how clean you are eating!

Also think of soap, lotions, make up, shampoo, conditioner – anything that goes on your skin is going in your body and affecting your body in some way! We cleaned up those things in our life as well to much healthier options.

I began supporting my body’s daily required nutrition with plant based supplements and sustainably sourced marine omega oils. This was an adjustment for me to ensure I take them daily, this is still one that I must remind myself of everyday. Its a lifestyle change – however one that has had a significant impact on my life and health.

With using essential oils on our body, its easily recognizable as plants and our bodies are similar systems.

Eating Health & Moving Your Body

With having PCOS there are certain foods that are great to support your body – just like exercise. For years I couldn’t understand why I couldn’t loose weight when I was exercising or going to the gym – these exercises weren’t the right ones for my body type – someone with PCOS!

For someone with PCOS our body type is similar to someone with Diabetes and if not properly controlled can develop into Diabetes. I found for myself, cardio exercise isn’t the ideal way to move my body. This is actually common in women with PCOS. Although Aerobic Training does improve ones health, we know that with PCOS comes physical and emotional challenges. Yoga has actually been found to help with decreasing anxiety levels in girls with PCOS. I began taking Yoga classes October 2017 and have found an incredible outlet for relaxation as well as stretching and strength training.

Take a moment and think about what you eat in a day.

Do you really think about what you eat or just move through the day eating on the go? When I became much more conscious about what I was eating – including the ingredients in the food – I became more educated and empowered to make healthier choices. Choosing convenience over time was proving challenging to my health. Feeling the value of time in the kitchen to prepare healthy foods has made a significant difference in my overall health. Selecting foods supportive to my body, all of which are supportive to my health are also supportive to my ADHD boy, my daughter and husband too.

For example one switch I made years ago was for my love of dip. I switched out sour cream for greek yogurt. We buy wholegrain bread vs white bread. Whole wheat flour vs white flour. Make home made chicken fingers/burgers vs boxed frozen. Choosing organic when possible. Washing fruits and vegetables before eating. Choosing fresh vs pre-made. I also learned that my body isn’t able to process twice cooked starches like potatoes, pasta, rice etc which has helped with meal planning and being more comfortable!

Regardless of the changes you make in your life – YOU are the one who needs to be comfortable with these changes and committed to giving it a shot. To be able to open your mind to a different way of thinking of our health in a more proactive vs reactive way.

These changes truly are what helped me shift my lifestyle for my own health and my family. They can however help anyone make that shift they may need.

What are you creating in your life

Our home renovations have become so much more than just re-creating our space, in my previous post I shared about how much its also helped us grow and change to become better people we were before, tackling things in our life that perhaps once held us stagnant.

These oils have been a blessing in more ways than one. They smell incredible – which makes our home smell incredible, but there is actually so much more to that! Our oils have been supportive to our physical and our emotional health.

Did you see my FB or Instagram live’s on Saturday about the diffuser blend I selected for our day and what we were doing. I selected these oils without thinking too much into it. I actually saw it as a blend online and thought that is perfect for bringing the feelings of Spring inside when it was snowing like December…

One blend was Lemon, Lime and Grapefruit… The Oil of Focus, The Oil of  Zest for Life, The Oil of Honoring The Body. That morning I had decided to clean out the the kids closets and get my clothes put away, including some that no longer served me since becoming healthier and stronger 😉

Sunday Morning I chose Fennel, Geranium, Copaiba, Eucalyptus and Grapefruit. The Oil of Responsibility, The Oil of Love and Trust, The Oil of Unveiling, The Oil of Wellness and The Oil of Honoring the Body.

This weekend was filled with renewal, growth, family and friends – my heart is full. The majority of the weekend, 80% of it has been in our home creating and enjoying the space and our time together.

Sunday I had the opportunity to have some alone time – purely alone in our home to enjoy the peace and quiet but more importantly to reflect on me.

I sat down and refilled our kids oil blends that we use every single day and were in need of topping up. I pushed my comfort zone to share why we use the oils we do and how we have embraced our ADHD lifestyle.

I then remembered to think of me…

I am consciously always thinking of what we need to do for the kids and keeping their routine intact – Im not as great with myself. But, I am getting better…

As I looked at the oils I had out, the ones I had just finished explaining the various uses and why (emotionally) we use them I knew I had to take better care of ME and needed to create my blend.

I took an empty Balance bottle and added in 4 drops each of Frankincense, Copaiba, Wild Orange, Balance, Vetiver and Neroli then topped with fractionated coconut oil and a spray bottle. Mama’s body spray to start the day! I did the same with an empty Neroli roller and added 3 of each topping with coconut oil for on the go use. Oils on and ready to tackle the rest of the day.

I also enjoyed an incredibly moving and powerful meditation by Louise Hay about “anger releasing”. It was by far the biggest shift I have ever felt during a meditation. As much as I though I had ‘gotten over’ some of the joy thief’s Ive had in my life, when she said to visualize the 1st person walking up, I felt the anger and anxiety build, I began to shake and I could see myself doing exactly as she said to do – tell them exactly what you think – how did they make you feel. Then she continued for person 2, person 3, person 4 and person 5. I knew without even thinking exactly who each person was and why. I was impressed at how this mediation exercise could uncover emotions like this and so quickly. I remember hearing the end of the meditation and then waking up on the couch, as soon as it finished I quickly feel into a deep sleep. I awoke feeling even more refreshed and renewed, committed to no longer letting these joy thief’s steal my thunder or have any control over my life. I woke feeling happy, at peace and ready!

For a “normal” weekend it has quite honestly felt like we’ve had 2 extra days. Its been productive, relaxing, fun, and I am going into this week feeling prepared, excited for what is to come and feeling so very grateful and abundant. ❤

What am I creating in my life… space, peace, ease, art, simplicity, love, gratitude, abundance, love, patience, freedom. What are you creating in yours?

Essential Oils for ADHD

In 2014, the most loving, curious, inquisitive little boy set me on a journey.

A journey within to follow my heart. This special little man has ADHD, I knew in my heart before we heard the words. I embraced it and we welcomed this to our lifestyle.

As a family we now all embrace and live an ADHD lifestyle!

On my journey I was in search of something natural that would support the body systems that ADHD affects. What I found was even better!

The essential oils we use daily to support ADHD in our home are:

  • NEW ADAPTIV – The Oil of Adaptability
This new blend has been a daily staple since we received it in October! A true blessing for supporting mental health at literally any time of the day morning or night this blend is both comforting/calming and uplifting!
  • Balance – The Oil of Grounding
This is a blend of tree oils, frankincense and flower oils. A beautiful blend to calm and relax the mind and body.
  • Cedarwood – The Oil of Community
Relaxing to the mind and body, peaceful, eases nervous tension.
  • Vetiver – The Oil of Centering and Descent
Supportive to nervous or anxious feelings. Vetiver is rich in sesquiterpenes that have grounding properties. Calming and grounding on emotions. Immune supporting properties. Great for sleep and relaxation.

Our morning and night oil routine.

We use these oils individually and layered in this order.

  1. Balance on toes rubbed in.
  2. Cedarwood on toes rubbed in.
  3. Vetiver on toes rubbed in.
  4. Frankincense on toes rubbed in.
  5. DDR, Copaiba and Frank blend rolled on spine in 10ml bottle.
  6. In Tune on neck.
  7. Lemon on wrists.

Its also important to support your body & mind naturally on a regular basis as well. To do this we use the Top 10 Essential Oils in our home! It is incredible what they can support for our physical and emotional health. Using the oils on a daily basis either topically, aromatically or internally can boost your immune system and support healthy function of your body.

The other thing Ive learned on this journey is gut health is crucial! For all children but especially for our beloved ADHD’ers! I trust and use the doTERRA supplements (for myself) as well as for our children. One they love and supports their gut health beautifully is our PB Assist Jr probiotics! If you or your kids have ever been on antibiotics… which many of us have – probiotics are a must have to get the good bacteria into the gut again!

img_20160919_082546

Our bedtime routine is after our normal oil routine is finished many nights the kids will select their own “bedtime” oils for back and tummy massages to begin to settle their bodies and minds for the night. My husband also does their bedtime diffuser routine with oils he feels are supportive to their sleep and wellbeing.

If you are interested in supporting your body with doTERRA Essential Oils please reach out to me I would be delighted to help you experience the oils in your own home!

When it all begins to make sense…

Chatting with a friend the other day, I made a comment about how our next reno phase had begun and her immediate response (in a loving way of course) was wow another one!?

I began responding without even thinking about HOW I was going to respond. I just began typing.

We’ve all been affected in some way in our lives by negative shit. Negative things, people, experiences etc that affect our life. Whatever these negative things are can sometimes rise up over time being triggered by a date on the calendar, the weather outside, a remark made by someone, a song on the radio, a tv show, a phone call, picking up the mail or our physical space.

Ive become stronger over the years, not allowing shit from the past to steal joy from my life these days. However there are times when these “joy thief’s” creep in and begin to wreak havoc on me and my emotions.

As I began to type my message back to my dear friend, I began to tell her the importance these home renovations are on me and for me. Its not material in any way. It not to ‘keep up with the Jone’s” it’s to create OUR space that’s unique to us and is filled with happy energy and memories.

I never felt settled in our first or second house. Something felt off. We didn’t stay long in either home. Even though in our first home we also did massive renovations to make it ours. Our 2nd home, although beautiful, wasn’t us at all.

We purposely bought this house for the incredible potential WE as individuals and as a family felt when we walked into it and knew were going to bring to it. Change isn’t easy for me and I had to wrap my head around the layout, be ok with taking a leap of faith while thinking of the future. Being purposeful with our purchase and valuing the space.

While reading her response of ‘wow under construction again’… I began typing from my heart. My head had absolutely no clue what I was writing. Even after I wrote it, I re-read it and literally said “Ahhhh that makes so much sense”.

Sometimes to move past emotional and physical pain it requires us to push ourselves harder – outside of our comfort zone of what we know and is easy. To push beyond what we think we need to do, to what actually needs to happen.

When we moved here, although I and we (as individuals and a couple) had negative energy from the past, we both felt the potential, we felt the love. Within weeks of moving here in the summer of 2011 my hubby came home with a new CD and played the song, Remind Me by Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood.

[Brad] Been so long that you’d forget
The way I used to kiss your neck
[Carrie] Remind me, remind me
[Brad] So on fire so in love
Way back when we couldn’t get enough
[Carrie] Remind me, remind me

We and perhaps more so I, could envision the future of what could be and surprising for some people its absolutely not materialistic. I envisioned a large kitchen with a large island where as a family we could all gather around cooking, eating, doing homework, laughing and building our family memories in a space we created with our hearts and minds.

Could we have done this in the original house by merely painting the walls – we did, for years. But it wasn’t us. It wasn’t what my heart was speaking to me. It wasn’t what I felt was best for our family.

Energy is pretty incredible. Our spaces absorb the energy of us and anyone who has ever entered our home. Everything in our space, things and people need to be a direct representation of US and who we are and who we want to be. When you’ve had shit go down in your life, sometimes it can feel daunting, you feel lost, alone, broken, worthless, but that’s the joy thief talking.

To often we allow these joy thief’s to not only impact OUR life but also our family’s life as well. Those people who wronged me/us, maybe they do live with regret, perhaps they couldn’t careless. Would it change my life to get an apology – perhaps, however it certainly wouldn’t undo anything and even life circumstances wouldn’t change. Life lessons happen for a reason for us to grow and become stronger and better, rising above those who have wronged us.

In chatting with my friend I realized now more than ever how amazing this growth journey in these past 6.5 years of living here in this house has been for me and for us as a family.

So now as this next reno is actually beginning to wrap up this week, and we have another on the horizon I am filled with gratitude – for our home, for my husband, for my children and for myself. This reno journey has been our best one yet, its pushed us incredibly hard, harder than we’ve ever been pushed, we’ve grown a lot. Every single one of us. We’ve been reminded of what is truly important and have taken our time to ensure our plans are exactly what we need them to be as we create a space and energy for our future and our family.

When it all begins to make sense and all the pieces fit together perfectly… ❤

When the mind shifts…

What is your intrinsic why?

Ive been losing track of mine.

Its far to easy to fall into the worry of how, vs the faith of why.

These past couple week’s Ive had the pleasure of working with a personal development coach and have attended some events and training. They’ve really begun to push me!

Push me to be true to ME. True to what I envision and what I want in my life.

I admit Ive focused far too much on what has happened to me or my family in the past, Ive tried to dig deep to understand why – why me, why did it happen, what did I do to deserve it. It was all external factors that I allowed to take control over me and take me away from my true path.

I remember back in high school dreaming of one day becoming an Architect. I was very smart and got high marks, but began to pull myself back – now I see that I did that on purpose, I was self sabotaging by lowering my standards. I wasn’t allowing myself to fully be free to reach for the sky.

Everything happens for a reason – I am and have always been a firm believer of this. Although it always intrigued me why. Why was always what I found myself reaching for – to understand. Sometimes we simply cannot understand we just need to trust.

The people who have crossed my path were meant to. Me not going following through to school for being an architect was a step that had to happen. After a year of life experience I chose, by myself as a single woman, to go to school for business. A stepping stone that was a blessing. When I chose to go to school I didn’t exactly know what I would do, but had been told I would be welcome at the family business as long as I had post-secondary schooling under my belt.

When you put your mind to something – no matter the size – you open yourself up to the universe to allow things to begin coming into place. A life lesson that is so much easier to see after you have had the opportunity to experience.

I went to college for general business, after a year moved up to business management and graduated with honors, on the deans list and certified in management. Incredible what could happen when I set my goal and had incredible support behind me.

A very fond memory was back the end of high school and I kept thinking about how I deserved to be in a relationship of love, mutual respect, with someone who truly values me as a woman, respects my family and who my family also welcomes with open arms. I thought of this so many times. So many times in fact that it is a very solid memory and one I am so grateful still to this day.

When my husband walked into my life it truly was unexpected, not planned in any way and clearly meant to be. In walked this man into my life who already knew a part of my extended family, supported me in my choices, had fun together and quickly became a part of our family and loved me in a way I had been missing for so many years. Has it been all roses – of course not. Relationships are work from every angle. The universe did however know what needed to fall into place and although I could have resisted and chose to go back to what had been “normal” for me for years – I chose to push forward and it was one of the best choices Ive made. I still for many years continually questioned if I actually deserved to be treated with respect and loved.

This life lesson is one that I remind myself all.the.time.

Yet at times I still am so quick to squash down dreams, goals and plans for the future – worrying of HOW or WHO.

Being a part of my essential oil community has been another blessing – surrounded by like minded women who uplift and encourage. Being empowered to make decisions with regards to my health and feel and see the difference. Gaining confidence to step above and away from the “norm” of society and follow my own path while guiding my family to do the same.

While at a training yesterday with my doSisters we spoke alot about our strengths and focusing on what we are good at. Not just for our essential oil businesses but in every aspect of our life. My biggest strength is Futuristic. The more I learn about this the more I am affirmed that this IS me. I love looking into the future, problem solving and creating solutions. I am learning how to be excited about looking into the future and also putting forth those plans in action today and even more so being excited about what I envision for myself and our family and not obsessing about the how or who of what might be said.

The how will come. The who may be supportive, they may be naysayers or they may need to exit from their part of my play of life.

Making a conscious choice to follow my heart, reach for goals and dreams – I have that choice and I want to ensure my kids know they have that same choice. Choice is power.

I began to second guess the 2nd part of our massive home project. Not because I didn’t want to do what we have planned but because the how and who began getting in the way. I am futuristic and a big part of that is where my passion for numbers comes in. I love working with numbers and planning every single thing. Its a major strength. One where I shine while my hubby is talented in the physical construction of things.

Our next project is a major – one we’ve been planning for years but I began squashing. Why do we need to do this, what will “they” think, how will we get the money to do it… question after question giving myself every excuse in the book when what it came down to was I was not allowing myself to feel worthy of my dream vision. I absolutely love our home. We very much are home bodies. Even when away we are happiest in our home. Why do we not deserve for it to be everything we have ever wanted. We work hard and have always paid our own bills. The game of life and that’s how to play it. Of course we deserve to make these choices, of course we are worthy of having our dream space custom to us and what we as a couple are envisioning together.

Without really knowing it I was squashing so much more than just our 2nd phase of our house project. Even with knowing this is a long term plan I was putting out to the universe that I do not feel I deserve more. When I do. We do.

The other day I shared a video in our essential oil group about weight loss. I knew even before I started to record the video, exactly how it had to begin. It began with mind set. I struggled with my health for SO many years – over 20  years, my physical health drastically affected my emotional health. At times very heavily. I knew I needed to take control, but for years I felt lost. Why did it suddenly work for me? Why was I successful? Because in my mind I was ready. It was a small shift, yet so incredibly powerful. I knew in my heart my goal wasn’t to be ‘skinny’ it was to be strong and healthy – in control of MY health. I honestly did not know how this was going to happen, I just knew it in my heart it was time. It worked. Its still working. In 1 year I lost 40lbs and have kept it off.

The mindset is incredibly powerful.

Being true to me, is being true to my heart. What feel’s light is right.

I may not be an architect by trade, but in fact I have become an architect. I am the architect of my life and I am supporting other women to do the same.

I do what it takes

It really is incredible how life unfolds and things begin to fit together – yes both good and bad. People who cross our paths, life experiences, songs on the radio, signs we see on our journey, numbers even. Everything happens for a reason for what we are attracting into our path.

A couple songs have caught my ear these past few weeks. Songs Ive heard before but until now, this week, have truly resonated with my heart and soul.

Beautiful Trauma by P!nk

These tough times they keep coming
Last night I might have messed it up again
Some days like I’m barely breathing
Then after we were high and the love dope died, it was you
The pill I keep taking
The nightmare I’m waking
There’s nothing, no nothing, nothing but you
My perfect rock bottom
My beautiful trauma
My love, my love, my drug, oh
It was when I truly listened to the song and the title. Beautiful Trauma. We’ve ALL experienced trauma in our life. Every single one of us. Regardless of P!nk’s meaning of this song, how is it resonating in my life?! Why all of a sudden is it catching my ear. Maybe, just maybe if in every traumatic experience we looked for even just 1 beautiful thing. It completely transform what has happened. It will never change that moment, or why it happened. However looking back on the many moments in life, it helps bring comfort, closure, forgiveness and love forward.
Whatever It Takes by Imagine Dragons
Falling too fast to prepare for this
Tripping in the world could be dangerous
Everybody circling, it’s vulturous
Negative, nepotist
Everybody waiting for the fall of man
Everybody praying for the end of times
Everybody hoping they could be the one
I was born to run, I was born for this
Whip, whip
Run me like a racehorse
Pull me like a ripcord
Break me down and build me up
I wanna be the slip, slip
Word upon your lip, lip
Letter that you rip, rip
Break me down and build me up
Whatever it takes
‘Cause I love the adrenaline in my veins
I do whatever it takes
‘Cause I love how it feels when I break the chains
Whatever it takes
You take me to the top I’m ready for
Whatever it takes
‘Cause I love the adrenaline in my veins
I do what it takes
Always had a fear of being typical
Looking at my body feeling miserable
Always hanging on to the visual
I wanna be invisible
Looking at my years like a martyrdom
Everybody needs to be a part of ’em
Never be enough, I’m the prodigal son
I was born to run, I was born for this
Wow did his song ever stand out for me. Almost every single lyric of the song. Especially… break me down and build me up – I do what it takes.
For far too long I have allowed the negativity of the past – people and experiences to control my life. Ive been broken down, Ive built myself up – sometimes multiple times.
As part of my wellness company, we have on going training’s which are both business and personal development. Our day yesterday really hit home for me to stop allowing the past experiences, worry, fear, rejection, hurt etc to sneak back in sometimes without even realizing.
To BE more present and actually take control of my life and what I want out of it. To reach for the stars of what I truly want in life.

Boost Your Fertility | Women’s Health

Are you trying to get pregnant?
Are your cycles all over the map?
Are you dealing with pain and discomfort?
I was challenged with Infertility years before doTERRA. Thankfully we were blessed with two beautiful children but it was HARD emotionally and physically on my body. In 2011 I had a hysterectomy due to to being at my limit, in constant pain, discomfort and depressed.
I welcomed doTERRA into my life mid 2014 with essential oils… 2015 began the supplements. My life began to change. I do not have a uterus yet I can feel my body going through its natural “cycle” every MONTH. This is HUGE for me – although I am not and cannot try to get pregnant. My body is BALANCED. Ive said to my hubby more times than I can count, “If I had a uterus I could get pregnant right now…”! 😉
I challenged myself to push outside of the “norm” and began making a shift in our home. Doing research of what endocrine disruptors are and how they were affecting me – as well as everyone else in my home.
Ive completed this cleanse now 3 times. I have PCOS and Hypothyroidism as well as IBS. All of which Ive been able to manage naturally with the support of my oils and supplements as well as making healthy lifestyle choices. Check out this protocol and connect back with me, I would love to help you balance your body as well!

When I Feel My Anxiety Levels Begin To Rise

My anxiety levels have been increasing lately, slowly but surely. I could feel that I was feeling ‘off’ however kept telling myself “its not a big deal”. Change IS a big deal. Even when change is good. Even when change is “small” Change, I am realizing is challenging to our family – even when its good change.

Last weekend – all weekend I completely forgot to take my supplements. These supplements are the true backbone to my health. I noticed on Sunday evening when I began feeling this ‘off’ feeling. It hit me… I wasn’t making ME a priority. I was letting the life circumstances and all the feels with those circumstances run me.

The next phase of our ‘whole home reno’ began last weekend. The day after we celebrated as a family our daughter’s 10th!

I am SO excited for this phase. Its tying all the shared spaces together on the main floor that we’ve worked so hard to create.

Its tossed up our routine. Its tossed up my routine. My kids, my husband’s as well.

We are so fortunate to have a handy 2 piece ensuite in our bedroom – thankful for that. Hubby claims this bathroom as his. It has worked well for us as our main bathroom right outside of our bedroom, is then mine and I share the shower with him 😉. The kids have their own large bathroom to share – lucky for them it was renovated twice in a matter of months lol!

This reno does not technically uproot our life. We have two other bathrooms. It has however uprooted our daily routine and this “small” change has my anxiety level on the rise.

So what am I doing to combat this now that Ive called it out…

  1. Its OK that our family thrives on routine and consistency – this is us and I love us! When out of routine its OK to be OK with not being OK… OK!
  2. Take the damn supplements – makes a significant impact on my daily life and health.
  3. Get the diffuser going in the morning with uplifting happy and grounding oils. Scent plays in incredible part in our mental health – especially these potent oils! ❤
  4. Get the oils ON me and us. As the parents we are conscious about getting these oils on our kids morning and night because we know it is beneficial to their emotional and physical health – it doesn’t have to be ‘hard’ to remember to do the same for ourselves – although sometimes it is.
  5. Write – I find writing helps me so much. I need to write more. I need to be ok with being transparent, being vulnerable. We have incredible life goals and its OK to go through these steps to reach these goals and not feel OK all the friggin time. That’s life. Life can be over whelming and its OK. Whats not OK is bottling this up and thinking that its not OK or worrying what others may think. Be ME always!
  6. Embrace my strengths… somewhat shocking to me my #1 strength based on the Clifton Strength Finder… Futuristic – explains a LOT 😉 ! The others ring very true for me as well. Embrace these strengths of what makes me – ME and be proud. One of the reasons why I have been able to ‘get through’ these massive reno’s is most likely because I am futuristic. I love visualizing. The entire reno I have been able to visualize what we were planning, what we were working towards – seeing our family IN the space. Its what helped make it so much more worth it for me and pushed me through those hard times. Also being an empath means I am very sensitive to emotions myself and those of others.
    1. Futuristic – People who are especially talented in the Futuristic theme are inspired by the future and what could be. They inspire others with their visions of the future.
    2. Significance – People who are especially talented in the Significance theme want to be important in the eyes of others. They are independent and want to be recognized.
    3. Empathy – People who are especially talented in the Empathy theme can sense the feelings of other people by imagining themselves in others lives or others situations.
    4. Achiever – People who are especially talented in the Achiever theme have a great deal of stamina and work hard. They take great satisfaction from being busy and productive.
    5. Focus – People who are especially talented in the Focus theme can take a direction, follow through and make the corrections necessary to stay on task. They prioritize, then act.
  7. Make a list – when I have things swirling around in my head its difficult to focus on what I truly need to focus on.
  8. Do nothing – even with a long list of things to do, sometimes I need to just do nothing and that’s ok!
  9. Ask for help. It really is ok – it doesn’t mean you are any less of a person.
  10. Have a plan on paper and communicate. For anything whether it’s a renovation or even just planning a meal.

This morning after enjoying a tea made by my hubby, got the diffuser going in the main living area, having a relaxing shower while thinking of all I want to accomplish today, I also reached for 2 of our newest oils. Ones that I am truly thankful for… Neroli and Copaiba. Even as an avid oiler with an every oil collection on my wall, I still at times need to remind myself to USE the oils on ME!

Neroli is incredible at supporting the emotions, its one I quite honestly never thought I would be that drawn to as it is a floral scent, however when I put it on my entire body goes AHhhhhhh. I learned from Desiree Mangandog to apply Neroli on the tops of the arms to support emotions. I also apply on my wrists and back of neck, sometimes over my heart centre.

Copaiba is one that I was taking internally and got out of habit – changes of routine has a way of doing this to me ;). It is an oil that is so valuable for many body systems including the nervous system. So this morning I took a couple drops internally.

Already I can feel myself calming, able to focus on my day and the things I want to accomplish and embrace life with a clearer mind.

Cheers to a productive Saturday and Weekend 😀
