Happy First Day of Spring | Spring Cleaning 2016

The sun is shining, the birds are singing… and there isn’t any snow !!! YAY!

Happy First Day of Spring ;)

20150502-328C9993-WM

With Spring comes SPRING CLEANING!!!

Did you know many cleaners contain chemicals which are not only toxic to us, our pets but also the environment?

Clean your home safely with a few simple and all natural ingredients which are extremely effective!

The multi purpose cleaner we use for literally EVERYTHING at home is very simple – Water, Vinegar and Essential Oils.

My FAV for Spring and Summer is Citrus oils – Wild Orange, Lemon, Grapefruit, Lime… either of those smells fabulous and is excellent at cleaning any type of surface.

The biggest plus (for me) is that this all natural cleaner is 100% safe around all of us – the adults, kids, dog, cat and bird! Its even safe around food :)

I also recently ordered some Norwex clothes to ramp up our cleaning processes as their cloths inhibit mold growth – you know those smelly cloths or towels – yup that! Im excited to add them into our cleaning routine along with my favourite essential oils recipes! Check out some of them below!!!

Natural Recipes

Multi-Purpose Cleaner – Fill glass or stainless steel bottle 3/4 of the way with water, add in 10-12 drops of Essential Oils of your choice and then top off with Vinegar.

Mould & Mildew Preventer – 2 cups water, 30 drops Melaleuca (tea tree oil) and 10 drops Peppermint oil.

Fruit and Veggie Wash – Fill the sink with water, add in a couple tablespoons of vinegar and 3-5 drops of Lemon oil. If you only have a few pieces to wash just use your multi-purpose cleaner – yes its that safe!

Fabric Softener – Vinegar with Essential Oils of your choice added directly to the washing machine.

Fabric Freshener – Water with 12-15 drops of Lavender and the Cleansing Blend spray on your furniture or mattresses to freshen up!

Foam Soap – Fill the soap dispenser 3/4 of the way with water, add in 1 tbsp of liquid castile soap and then add in 8-10 drops essential oil of your choice.

Carpet Freshener – 2 cups of baking soda with 10-15 drops of essential oil of your choice – citrus oils are great or the Cleansing Blend. Combine all ingredients, shake well and then sprinkle all over the carpet. Let sit for 15-30 minutes before vacuuming up.

Cleaning Paste – 1 cup baking soda, 1/2 cup water, 1 tbsp liquid castile soap and 10 drops Lemon Essential Oil.

Deodorant – 1/4 cup of baking soda, 1/4 cup arrowroot powder, 3 tbsp coconut oil add in 12-15 drops essential oil of your choice. Store in a glass jar with a lid and apply as needed. Ive played with the ratios and add in more arrowroot powder than baking soda now.

Bath Salts – 3 cups of epsom salts, 1 cup of baking soda (optional) add in essential oils of your choice approximately 8-10 drops. Mix well and add 1 cup to running bath water.

Hand Sanitizer – add 10-15 drops essential oil to a 10ml glass roller bottle, fill with fractionated coocnut oil, shake well, roll on hands as required.

It is recommended that you test out your cleaner first before spraying down the complete area.

Invigorating, Uplifting & Calming| Wild Orange Essential Oil

When I was first introduced to Essential Oils, I remember thinking what I earth would I do with all of those oils? Wild Orange was one of them!

It is now part of my absolute favourite diffuser blend at night… Lavender and Wild Orange! I wake up feeling so relaxed and refreshed! Dark and dreary day at work? No problem, 3 drops of Wild Orange with 2-3 drops Peppermint, or even Wild Orange, Peppermint, Frankincense and Lime – “Happy Happy Happy” is an amazing blend to get your mind feeling alert and ready for anything!

Wild Orange is also a bright, fresh, uplifting scent so it is beautiful for using aromatically in a cool mist diffuser as well as topically on your skin. I love putting a drop of Wild Orange in the palm of my hands or wrists and breathing in – think of peeling a fresh juicy orange, picked directly off the tree – its that fresh smelling!

The amazing bonus is when you put these essential oils in a diffuser, everyone within the room will experience the wonderful positive benefits! Even those who may be feeling down and grumpy… this will help kick that frown upside down!

Wild Orange is known as The Oil of Abundance. It is outstanding at addressing a number of emotional issues.

“At its core, Wild Orange teaches the true meaning of abundance. It encourages individuals to let go of scarcity mindsets… fear, nervousness, inflexibility, workahollism, lack of humour and belief that there is not enough.”

“Wild orange reminds the soul of the limitless supply found in nature.”

“Wild Orange also assists in an individuals creative sense and reconnects individuals with their inner child and brings spontaneity, fun, joy and play into one’s life.”

Why Essential Oils? This is my Why!

As time goes on, we continue to have ah-ha moments with these oils of ours!

I recently experienced a LOT of pain near my tailbone, unsure of what the heck happened and concerned with how quickly the pain was worsening I finally made an appointment with the doctor – I will add against my own gut feeling. The problem for me is with taking an antibiotic, this kills all the bacteria in your gut – good and bad. So IF I really don’t NEED to take an antibiotic I don’t want to. Turns out I didn’t, I followed my gut and went with what I knew I should do. Does that mean I will never ever again take an antibiotic – no. There is a time and a need for antibiotics – just not for every little thing.

I recently met someone and am so extremely excited for this opportunity – not for me though, for the people we are going to share our amazing Orange with!

Did you know Orange is outstanding for calming any anxious feelings you may have? Or uplifting to the mind and body? I just LOVE it. There are some days my body actually craves it.

Wild Orange and Lavender is one of my favourite bedtime diffuser blends!

I am so thankful not just for the essential oils but also for the amazing personal growth, finally getting to know who I really am. Actually enjoying life and doing things with my family.

What would you like for a sample?

Ive had some people asking, Why Essential Oils, do they really “work”, “are they just a fad?” “Can they really help me?” “Will it be a waste of money…”

Ultimately this is a decision you must make on your own to be open to learning and the possibility of natural health and wellness … however this is my story!

Let me begin with saying, this past year + has been an amazing time of growth, education and change – in so many ways for myself and my family.

Ive made a decision to further my education and share my own knowledge and experience with essential oils.

Why?

Because the oils themselves have had a profound effect on our family and our daily life. The company Ive chosen to represent, continues to set their standards higher to ensure their oils are 100% pure with no additives, chemicals, fillers and true to…

Roll your way to being empowered in your home – for all ages!

In our home we use our essential oils daily through topical use and aromatic diffusion. For some of them that means morning and night we apply oils topically on our bodies to assist in emotional balance, well being and to support our bodies natural functions.

One, which is a favourite to be applied topically is the grounding blend. This is one I personally use as well as our two kids.

With applying the oils topically daily I needed to conveniently and quick method of application! The oils we use daily are the Grounding Blend, Cedarwood, Vetiver an Frankincense. My son also applies Lemon and In Tune.

I put these oils we use most into roller bottles diluted with fractionated coconut oil. They’re ready to roll whenever we are!

IMG_20160209_195826

The biggest benefit to roller bottles is the way our children can empower themselves with being able to apply whichever oils they need without needing us to do it for them!

Our nightly routine, I typically apply the oils to each of our kids and at least once or twice a week they get back massages with the oil of their choice – whatever they are naturally drawn to!

Its exciting as a mom to be able to empower my children and teach them that there is a better, more natural way of living. With a winter which has been more like Spring some days, we have been extremely lucky to have all remained healthy!

If you too are interested in being empowered within your own home I would love for you to join me on this journey!

New Year, New You! Cheers to the EXPERIENCES of 2016 ;) {NEW Blog}

This new year so far has been great! I started it with the 3 other people who truly mean the absolute MOST to me in the world – my family <3

IMG_20151231_225300_edit1

Im not one to make any “new year resolutions”, however one thing that our family has committed to is EXPERIENCE more together this year!

Our meaning of experiences does not always involve money. For us its sharing time together doing something fun and interesting. In the past we have taken the kids on other day or over night trips which were amazing, life is truly too short and these kids are growing up so fast! But not only are we a family, we are also husband and wife and this year we are committing to spending more time as a couple ;)

Tonight my hubby and daughter were cooking in the kitchen, getting ready for our family Sunday fondue night. Awesome way to end a fabulous week and look forward to what is to come this coming week!

This January I began a ‘Belief Break Through Boot Camp’ it has been amazing for personal development. What an amazing opportunity to really dig deeper into WHO I am, what I truly WANT in my life, LIVING, being HEALTHY and HAPPY!

Within our Belief Break Through Boot camp we had to come up with our proclamation statement to share with others…

I am a beautiful, successful, confident and organized woman living my life fearlessly and passionately NOW!

Going along with our EXPERIENCES, New Years Resolution I am having such a wonderful time sharing with others just how easy it is to transition over to a healthier, natural life! Join me with my newsletter you can click to join here! I am now offering online classes where you can learn from the comfort of your own home about Essential Oils. I have one starting tonight at 9pm – email or private message me if you would like to join in!

One of our already memorable experiences of 2016 was our trip last week to Great Wolf Lodge!!! It was SO much fun, worth every penny and we are already planning our next adventure! My ‘big’ camera didn’t even come out until the very last couple hours! We all had a blast in the various pools, hot tub, water slides, lazy river – and the food was AWESOME!!! We had such a fabulous time!!! A few days before we left, a friend posted how after they had been at an indoor pool/water park their kids all got some sort of respiratory infection – no worries I oiled us ALL up before and after going in the pool!

The Best Moments of Christmas 2015

This Christmas I must say was the absolute best.

This afternoon I sat and simply wrote whatever came to mind.
When I then began to write about healing.

Healing as  a “whole” for myself.

Over the very many years of my life there has been a lot of happiness but also heart ache. Truly appreciating the past, as its what has made me but not worrying or thinking of things that do not need to be. Enjoying the present and what life has blessed us with and looking forward to the future. This past year has been a year of healing, I completely changed over our home to a much healthier and happier way of living. I am taking supplements which now support my body in ways that I wasn’t able to before experience.

Far too often the negative experiences of the past are too easily focused on, draining the focus and energy from all the amazing positive things in life. This past year, while getting myself healthy physically, I was also to get healthy emotionally. Feeling healthy as a whole. Truly investing in myself, a true reflection and deep look within of who I am, who I want to be and why I am here.

A journey that until on it, I hadn’t realized I truly needed it.

What were the very best moments of Christmas 2015…

The gifts were so incredibly thoughtful, not just “things” bought for each other. There was true thought and heart put into each gift. But “things” are certainly not what I would call a ‘best moment’ of Christmas.

The best moments of Christmas 2015 was with all of the wonderful people who we got to enjoy it with. From our Malenfant, Zmija, McLellan, Graham and Water’s family so so greatly appreciate and enjoyed our celebrations with you. The photographer in me, my heart truly was overflowing when I downloaded all of the photos. True lifestyle moments captured of Christmas. Next to my family, my photography absolutely ignites the love in my heart.

We are lucky to have you a part of our lives. To have the relationship’s with you that we do and most of all to be a part of our kids lives. Being parents now, although its still important to who we are as individuals and as a couple, its just as important if not a bit more important for our kids and their well being emotionally and physically to have all of these healthy relationships in their lives.  Our two little’s are very sentimental and tradition is already so important to them. Thank you to our loved ones, young and wise, who shared the traditions with them – you truly made their Christmas XO!

20151226-328C5167-WM

Oh this man of mine… we’ve been through a lot, but wow look where it’s brought us. Quite an awesome journey with the best side kick I could ever imagine experiencing with! This life is everything I could have ever asked for… quite honestly the very best being how awesome you get along with my family. You are a natural fit <3!

I also have to mention that we did NOT plan to match what we were wearing! We each got dressed separately… apparently great minds do think alike ;)

(This was after he gave our family a quickie make out session surprise hahaha sorry guys ;) )

20151226-328C5169-2WM

If anyone would like to join me on this health and happiness journey I would truly welcome you with open arms. This has been the best year of my (our) life and I know there are many more happy and healthy years to come!

This next year, in so many ways is going to be absolutely spectacular! I cannot wait to experience everyday ! :)

Merry Christmas From My Family To Yours…

The day is here, its Christmas Eve!!!

The kids are SO excited – not just for the arrival of Santa but for the time spent with family.

I am excited – I truly believe its exciting as a kid at Christmas, but having my own kids… I am possibly more excited than the kids are! To see their faces and excitement on Christmas morning is pure love, magic and bliss!

We truly are SO very blessed!

Cheers to a wonderful Christmas… to Health, Happiness and Peace!

Charge up your camera batteries, capture those precious moments and for the other photog’s out there… BE IN the photos!!! Capture life as it happens… Last year we set up the tripod for Christmas morning at home and mom and dads, so I could be in all our Christmas photos – priceless!!! I LOVED our photos from the morning.

For my fellow Essential Oil lovers… Im am very excited to try a new blend tonight in the diffuser…

3 drops Lime
3 drops Wild Orange
2 drops Cinnamon
2 drops White Fir
2 drops Cypress
2 drops Bergamot
1 drop Eucalyptus

For those of you who do not have all of these oils… Peppermint is outstanding in the diffuser especially for Christmas… If you have Frankincense you could mix Peppermint and Frankincense together!

Another amazing mix is the Metabolic Blend with Cassia, our daughter had that in her diffuser last night, the smell was outstanding!

From our family to yours… Merry Christmas!
