Good Morning On The Beach | Lake Huron Sunrise

I can admit I am not the best morning person. However there are those off chances that the photographer in me is up with the early songs of the birds when the sun is just beginning to peek out for the day.

This past weekend I felt incredibly blessed to have woken up at 530am and took a walk to the beach. The birds were happily singing, I was even so lucky to meet a Geese family of 11. They became my morning subjects. There is something about the silence, the sunshine, the tranquility of the early morning. Alone on the beach, not another soul around. A very energizing and creative morning to share with these beautiful birds.

Apple Blossoms Growth | 2014

Growing up with apple trees in my parents back yard, although I loved to climb and run through the trees I never truly stopped to appreciate the beauty right before our own eyes.

The tiny buds on the trees beginning to open, the flowers beginning to bloom. The beauty of new life.

Now as an adult I am able to enjoy this beautiful miracle right in my own back yard, with my own children.

Its almost time to wake up little apple blossoms, I cannot wait to see you!

The Spring Bloom | 2014 New Life. New Beginnings

There is something special about every season, especially when you are a photographer.

Spring means new life, a brand new start, amazing possibilities. I love walking our property to see all the new flowers, buds on the trees, brand new trees growing and enjoy the birds singing.

Tonight my lens of choice was the Canon 100L f2.8 Macro – this lens is razor sharp! Fun for not only macro but also for portrait or lifestyle as well.

We have two apple trees in our back yard – I LOVE their spring blooms!

These tree’s I am unsure of their kind – we have a lot of little ones growing this year too…

Enjoy this long weekened… if you do anything, get out and take a walk, breathe in the outdoors, the fresh clean air, the brand new life!

Impromptu Shots (Of Photographers Children) Are Sometimes The BEST!

Lets keep it real… its probably 50/50 for the times the kids wake up and actually get dressed on their own vs us telling them… over and over and over again. When they do we make sure we tell them how awesome they look (so they keep doing it 😉 ).

This morning, I came out and they were not only looking SO cute, they had already had a bowl of cereal and were colouring quietly… yeah, whaaaaat?!

What a nice way to start off the morning with these two cute littles of ours!

I love, love, love these behind shots of the kids. Have them since she was just wee and sitting in her bumbo with him beside her and they are watching tv.

Time passes by so quickly…change happens all around us everyday whether we like it or not.
Enjoy the moment while you can, one day it will just be another memory.

My Mothers Day | 2014

At times this love I feel for my kids can seriously be overwhelming. Other times Im quite happy to direct them to their father.

My love for them will always be the most powerful emotion I have ever felt, the biggest part of me and by far the biggest accomplishment of my life – being their mother.

So blessed I am that I woke up with a plant from both of my kids, which they each planted at school and a hand written card by my boy. For him this is huge – of course being the awesome mommy I am I made the biggest deal! I love it. Not only because my boy made it but because MY boy made it. My girl picked out my outfit today, my little fashionista! I was very happy to oblige 🙂

I cannot imagine my life without these two littles, they truly make me, ME. That piece of me that was missing for many years, although I knew I always wanted to be a mom… having them truly completed me. Not being married, that was a bonus. The man I chose to marry, was most certainly the right choice to be blessed with these two littles who have blessed me in SO many more ways than they will ever know.

These two may test every little bit of patience I have… sometimes many times a day… but I could not imagine a day without them. Heck being away from them for a night, Im missing them like crazy! They truly are the best decision I have ever made… to become a MOMMY! 😉

To my little man and lady… I love you to the moon and back!

Happy Mothers Day… to our Mom’s, Grama’s and Aunt’s!

On such a happy day… we will always have a tear of sadness for Mom Diane, who should be here with us and who we miss so very much XOXO.

We are so lucky to have Mom in our life, so thankful to have you with us and our children and everyday we truly do cherish! XOXO

Happy Mother’s Day to both our Mom’s, although Diane is not here with us, we know she is ‘with us’, always. Especially our kids.

Everyday is a totally new adventure together. All our good moments, the laughter, fun and of course the bad and even the ever so frustrating. There is nothing in this world I would want to do or be more, than your mom! My life has completely changed, you both have made me the woman I am today and have reminded me just how important and precious life is. I love you more and more everyday! XOXO’

… and of course to the man who, without I would not have these precious babies of ours. Life can get pretty crazy at times, but its been 13 years and counting… we are stronger than ever and have been through so very much. Our love continues to shine through and I thank you for this journey in life you chose to walk with me. Its been crazy, frustrating, messy, loud… but we’ve survived and each and everyday with you and our kids I am so excited to see where this journey in life will continue to take us. For better or worse… Forever and Always.

Being a mom has changed me,
For I have been blessed more than I could ever ask for,

Cottage Life | The Beginning of The 2014 Season

For us the cottage means 3 very important parts of life, family, friends and relaxing!

With enjoying the cottage, comes work. We like to get the majority of that work and upkeep done before the summer cottage season truly begins! The more hands that pitch in the faster we can get it done.

Simply amazing – yet not with the winter we had – that the bay AND lake is still covered in ICE!!!
