When a woman heals herself…

A beautiful friend, who has also shared in her own personal development journey shared a quote the other morning that truly touched my heart.

A woman who heals herself,
heals her mother,
heals her daughter,
and heals every woman around her. <3

I love how the universe brings us words, things and people into our life when they have the most meaning for us. Just the other night I was reflecting on how our new weekly morning routine was having a very positive shift in my life and our entire family. For years Ive been a night hawk, always used that as my crutch even when I woke in the morning dragging my butt, all of us literally waking with enough time to get out the door in a rush! Taking back that has literally given us power… BUT… For me to make this shift in my life – resulting in a shift in our family life required ME to do the work for ME.

Although this quote specifically speaks of women healing ourselves and the other women in our lives it goes much deeper than that! The men in our life of all ages also begin to feel the healing, as they should.

When a woman puts her self care first, it’s a ripple effect in the family that is like waves in the water and will gradually flow out beyond her family and to her extended family, friends and community. Keep it positive. Keep it real. Be truthful with yourself. If you need help – get it – none of us are invincible nor are we expected to be. Be vulnerable, open up and take a step back from controlling what you think the outcome should be. Read and expand your mind. Speak positively about the people in your life. Be respectful. Be an example to your children of how people should be treated. Be understanding and realize we are all a work in progress. Most of all live and love with compassion. Be kind for everyone you meet is on their own journey and your’s or their’s is no more important than the other. We are all here to make a difference and sometimes it’s the people who feel like they are pushing away who need love the most 💖!

Boost Your Immune System

This time of year its important for everyone of all ages (kids and seniors especially) to boost our immune system! Not just for the change in temperatures but also for the variety of foods we typically eat during the holiday season – especially those which contain more sugar! Sugar works against your immune system and can weaken it! Enjoying more alcohol than typically, late nights (lack of sleep), spending more time indoors, perhaps less physical movement and exercise, stress can all contribute to weakening our immune system.

Boost up your immune system with essential oils and nutrient rich supplements to feel your best and enjoy a balanced body!

Check it out and let me know if you have any questions! :D

Get out of your head!

Can I be honest with you?

When our kitchen is clean, I thrive, we thrive as a family. Things flow, fall into place and this mama starts her day calm and prepared.

Being a mom, being parents, truly has been our best learning and living experience ever. Our children have taught us more than we ever learned before they joined our family. Not just about being parents, about being ourselves and the importance of holding strong to that.

Being on this personal journey is about myself but it’s also about my family. I really and truly love a laid back calm home. Somedays with real life, work, school, sports, various other commitments life can begin feeling daunting. Feeling like everything is a chore… even just a 5 minute one!

So this week we’ve grown into a new routine and although we are fresh into it… I am LOVING our days and evenings together! Making changes can be hard, but when it feels good and light in your heart and body it’s the right thing!

Our kids, much like us, are sensitive souls. Growing up and as an early teen I was fascinated with energy work. I now understand we are sensitive to energy. It’s a real thing. We can sense negative energy or that something is wrong. We may not know what but we can feel something is off. We are empaths. This for our family means downtime, organized spaces, healthy eating and getting sleep.

Starting our day with oils, music and healthy eating has been so incredible. Everyone working together with an abundance of time, letting go of that “rushed” and constricted feeling.

A friend told me about how she ordered a google home mini and loved it! I can admit I’ve been anti-home devices because… well I’m not one to jump on fads and I want to ensure I get the best bang for my buck! Well… let me tell you this little device has been pretty freaking awesome!

Our kids, much like us, think on the go and sometimes when they think of something they can quickly forget if they get distracted. Being hands on kids and these devices being voice activated is amazing! Google has actually helped us get even more into our new groove.

Playing music, telling us the weather, “hey google what are some healthy breakfast options?” We had oatmeal on the stove this morning! Asking when hockey games are, broadcasting messages, setting timers and alarms, managing shopping lists… so much more!

It is true though… a big part of this is getting out of my head. How often do we have so many things going through our mind between the kids, home, work, spouse, pets, Christmas, paying bill’s, friendships and personal time, health and fitness. Heck I had the device a week before I said anything or even attempted to set up. I love technology but I get up in my head and overthink everything.

I also noticed the other day, as I’ve been growing my hair out, I began picturing an earlier self. I find intriguing because this earlier me was in a much simpler time, I was a beautiful naive newly teen who loved to read, take art lessons, loved my long hair and followed my heart. My how life has grown since then. Including myself. A time I truly didn’t think about what others thought of me or what I enjoyed doing, I just followed my heart.

That is what I want wholeheartedly in our life and for our kids. A laid back simple, fulfilling, organized life filled with love and fun. Where they can thrive! It’s what we deserve too. We’ve had the “busy” life and we’ve much more enjoyed making down time and our space a priority.

To get out of our head, the true “busy-ness” of the day whatever we may be doing. Many of our evenings are not just our incredible essential oils… many of our nightly bedtime routines now also include crystal’s!

I’ve introduced my family to Reiki energy and crystal’s alongside using our oils every day. I used to shy away from what I find so very fascinating… key word – used to! Hearing my kiddos ask for energy work with crystal’s and oils makes me feel even more empowered as their mama to be the strong woman that I am!

Get out of your head and just be YOU! 🦋

Slow back, enjoy life – especially the little things. Do things that are out of the norm but what you have been telling yourself you want to do. Heck I used to let baking get me overwhelmed…and then tonight without even really thinking much about it, just getting into rhythm in a clean organized kitchen and baked home made brownies… yes 100% home made – sugarless even and oh man did they taste amazing!!! Black bean brownies! Added 3 drops of doTERRA Peppermint and YUM! Not only did I bake the brownies, they are ready for school tomorrow and the dishes all clean. That my friends is major progress. Because let’s be honest, some days just life in general can be stressful without all the extras!

So much more life can happen when we get out of our heads. There is lots of time for whatever needs to get done, so be sure to step back from the fast pace and into your own rhythm. You’re worth it! 💖

If you are passionate about something – teach your kids and spouse. You never know what may spark inside of them similar to you!

Yarrow|Pom & Turmeric – Skin Care Testimonial

I am SO excited to share this testimonial with you because it’s very near and dear to my heart!

My husband has had challenges with eczema for years. He can be completely fine for a length of time and then it suddenly flares up. Previous to our oils he has used a prescription steroid cream.

He chose to do an ‘experiment’, not using the steroid cream and rather use nature. Look at the difference!

Change your mind, change your life

I’ve been on an incredible personal development journey intentionally for the past 4+ years.

What I am finding fascinating and extremely interesting is in fact how many of our beliefs can come from when we are younger and can be from 1 moment, memory or experience.

Ever since becoming a mom, I’ve learned more in life than my previous 25 years. My children truly have been my best teachers.

As I have been growing, my family has as well. Being more aware of our actions, being true to ourselves, honesty, trustworthy and just simply being authentic.

My children are much like me, like both my husband and I being empathetic and sensitive. As I clear negativity and dig deep to clear skme of my own belief patterns and negativity I can see them doing their own digging, which we help them through.

A couple instances have really stood out for me…

The weekend we moved into our home, our family dog, who had been by my side longer than my hubby, passed. He spent a couple days here with us before crossing the rainbow bridge. This was incredibly hard for me, and the emotions still can take over me. I was home alone with the kids when our old man was stuck on our deck from having multiple seizures. During a quiet moment I got the kids to go out and sit with him so I could take photos of our boy Elwood and his siblings. Our kids were almost 3.5 and almost 5… this exact moment and memory became concrete in our daughters memories of our dog Elwood. It became a very emotional and tragic experience for her that we did not even realize until years later. This exact moment is what she held on to, what she remembered as her first dog.

It wasn’t until I read it in one of her school projects and she drew a picture of their last photo together – in their jammies snuggling Elwood up on our red deck. A moment that at the time in my mind I was simply capturing the kids and their dog. A moment that has haunted her emotionally for years :(

More recently with another school project our boy Elwood came up again… it broke my heart in two, however I was much more equipped to handle her emotional sadness and her anger towards not being able to remember him other than when he died because she was only 3…

Our daughter is now 10.5 and our son 12. This memory had been haunting her for over 7 years. This memory also hadn’t come up for more than a year…

What is interesting is we’ve been doing some oily energy cleansing in our home this past month which typically means things come to the surface for us to deal with – what we should do vs pushing down and ignoring.

When it came up this time she was prompted again during a school project to recall a memory. When I read what she had written my heart began to sink, but not for long. While consoling her I suggested we change this sad memory into something happy, which is exactly what I had to do for myself many years ago.

Yes our boy Elwood died after just being here for a couple days… but he moved here with us and knew we were happy and safe. He knew his time with us was coming to an end and it was time for us to remember all our happy times with our Elwood and trust that he is now happy and healthy himself. He knew we were ready to open our hearts to a new puppy for all of us to grow with and love because just days after our boy Elwood crossed our boy Becker was born.

As a child she was unsure how to handle these emotions. She worried that ‘forgetting’ of him and being happy to have a new dog meant she didnt love our Elwood, which of course as an adult we know is not true.

This. This exact example is how easy it is for a memory to suddenly become a belief and become hardwired in our minds.

Another example of my amazing daughter is from back in Kindergarten… so approx 6 years ago when her teacher brought in pumpkin muffins from a store. She had a reaction after eating these muffins and has avoided anything pumpkin ever since. This week my mom made pumpkin chocolate chip muffins and offered them to the kids to try… they both LOVED them!

When I told her that I had good news that she wasn’t allergic to pumpkin she was ecstatic! She never was allergic however she had a reaction that put fear in her mind and thus she never touched it again. She had a similar experience with bacon, that was a bit chewy and she choked on. Both situations her feelings were validated and understandable. We never pushed her to make her eat anything she didn’t want to. However she quickly did realize bacon is absolutely amazing when cooked properly haha!

Another example was one teacher told her they couldn’t use the word “perfect” because nothing is perfect… I will be honest when she told me this, I pushed back and my response to my hubby was, why don’t they see how their words DO affect children so very much. For a long time if we used the word perfect we got told we couldn’t… simply because one teacher and her belief told the students that. Is the teacher wrong, no because that was her belief. My point is that it’s this simple for something to be concrete in a child’s mind.

When you choose what your belief’s are, regardless of anyone else’s you can change your life. An empowering part of raising kids. We aren’t raising kids to be identical copies of their parents, they are their own true soul’s who need to discover who they really are. As their parents, we can empower them and guide them to discover their own voice. To question and ask why. To research and discover more. To truly be themselves no matter what and not “because I said so”.

Wisdom Wednesday – Raising Them Up Right

Raising little ones is the best and most challenging part of my life. One I wouldn’t give up for the world and also one that has made me cry great big alligator tears.

Being a parent has been a journey in itself. What is right for one parent or child will not be exactly right for another parent or child.

However what I have learned is that being a parent doesn’t have to be hard. Raising a child is simply that… raising them to be the best person they can be as they learn this wonderful world we love in.

As I type this (in November) my son has been sending me photos of how he unpacked our monthly doTERRA order and unwrapped everything and has it sorted on our kitchen table. He found the Holiday Guide and was also sending me photos of what’s in it and what he would like (and why!!!). I love that we are able to show the kids a different way (from how we both grew up-which I’m not knocking st all) of taking care of our health in a more natural holistic way.

The other night my daughter and I were talking. Early we had been talking about feelings and that evening she made a comment about how every single person no matter who they are or anything else, has a brain and a heart. I then added so everyone is capable of loving… and she finished with “and thinking”. Then she added in, but you don’t think with your heart you think with your head, your heart controls the blood flow in your body. I asked her where she feels her feelings. She pointed to her stomach. She said when it feels good, you feel it here and when it feels bad you also feel it here.

Feelings are meant to be felt, to move through, to discuss if needed in writing or talking. Empower your children with healthy living – however that manifests in your life!
